Is there any night vision test for class 1 and 2 medical, both for initial and renewal exam? If there is, can anyone tell me what it is about? Thanks a lot

There isn't specifically a night vision test, but do bear in mind that if you have a colour vision deficiency, you won't be allowed to fly at night.

I'm in this situation - I have a JAR PPL with an IMC rating (the CAA recently changed the rules so colour-blind people can get IMC ratings - this didn't used to be the case) but I have a "flight by day only" restriction on my licence so I'm not allowed to go get a night rating (or an IR, because that requires night flying).
