After life in the Air Training Corps

Hi there,
I've been in the ATC for nearly 3 years and I love it!
When I leave school i wanna get a sponcership with a charter airline like Air 2000.
My family is'nt rich or poor but still don't wanna pay for the training and end up in det.
Could any body tell me the best way to about this?????

HI!

Great to see that you are keen to get up there!

However, its not going to be easy.

If you have a search around this web site, i.e. previous threads, you can read some of the disscussions about univeristy vs stright in, whcih Alevels, which sponsership and lack of sponsership, and the pros and cons about companies such as Malgus.

There is a lot to read, but I suggest to have a good look though - and then, if you still have a specifc quirey or question, then post it up!

All the best,

FW

Bf,

sad to say, but sponsorships are nowhere near as available as they used to be. The practicalities are that most people are willing to pay for their training and some even pay for their type ratings.

The net result is that with few jobs and an abundance of pilots, the airlines can afford to be really choosy.

If you are adamant that you don't want to pay for your training then don't forget the forces. All 3 armed forces recruit for pilots and they pay you a fair wage whilst they train you.

For the current civil market, make sure you get the best grades possible at school and as FW says, have a search for recent threads on sponsorship. It is possible to get sponsorship, but you gotta be damn good to get it.

All the best,
