What should I DO next????????

Hey everyone...
well the story so far..
Have a FAA commercial multi IFR approx 400 TT with 110 Multi
now in canada.. 3 years of college (Aviation management) which I just graduated from.. and also 2 years of work experience at the Brampton Flight centre www.bramfly.com
as a Dispatcher...
Now in the process of getting my canadian commercial multi IFR and also a float plane rating ...which I intened to do by the end of the next 2 months..(cause its just a conversion)
SO now the key is what to do??????
I have a canadian landed immigrant status and eligible for a passport next summer
I also have an Indian passport...
should I go back to india and try my luck as there are some things coming up there??(try converting to an Indian license also) ?
Or any places in the world that are looking for low time pilots?
I can afford to pay for my type rating with whichever company will give me the oppurtunity to work for them...(I know thats not always the best thing.. but if its the only way...)
Right now I am single and 24.. so no commitments to stay anywhere...
I don't mind relocating to anywhere...
any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Ashwin,

All my pilot friends in India are hired by one airline or other. Things are improving in India and airlines are looking for commercial pilots. Airlines in India do hire low time pilots. I have heard that Air India will be coming up with vacancies in October.

You definintely need Indian licence to be able to work in India. If you do decide to go to India to conver your licence, I'd highly recommend stopping in the UK and getting a RT licence (both HF and VHF).

For ground school try Duggal in New Delhi, he is pretty good and will definitely get you through.

Good luck, trust me you will need it for all the red tape !!

Hey Guys,

Many thanks

Air India Recruitment

Speedbird1

This is my view and therefore open to other more enlightened ones:

To convert JAA ALTP to Indian (ICAO) ALTP you need :

(a) Composite paper
(b) Indian Class 1 Medical
(c) Indian IR on ME aircraft.
(d) You can get an Indian RTR(A) based on your UK FRTO

Thereafter apply to DGCA with all your documents.

Regarding recruitment I know of airlines who have taken foreigners who either had Indian Residency or Indian (dual) passport which is available now (I think).

Happy hunting!

There should be a listing of UK radio examiners on the NATS website at:
