GAPAN PPL Scholarship Question?
Hi Flyers,
I intend to apply for a GAPAN PPL Scholarship later this year and wanted some information on the package being offered:
1. What is involved in the selection procedure? How are the interviews structured?
2. Between which months in the summer is training likely to take place? How long does the training usually last and how is it structured? Where is it likely to take place (I live in London)?
3. What about accomodation/travel to and from the school?
I was awarded a RAF Flying Scholarship in the summer 2000 and completed it successfully. Does that improves or lessens my chances for the PPL Scholarship? Will this mean that I will only need to complete around 25 more hrs and less exams!
Any information received will be greatly, greatly appreciated.

GAPAN sponsorship
Hi, anyone know anything about this sponsorship. I am thinking about applying for the PPL scheme. What I would like to know is, who are GAPAN looking to give this sponsorship to? Is it candidates who have a burning ambition to learn to fly? or candidates who have the ambition but no financial means? or candidates who intend to go on after PPL and gain more qualifications towards a professional pilots career, and need a helping hand?
Also I one of my goals would be to get a Instructors rating eventually. So if I got the GAPAN PPL sponsorship would I be eligible to apply for the instructors sponsorship e.g. next year (would they realistically give two sponsorships to the same person?)
Obviously I don't expect a completely free ride but I am just trying to find out what financial help is out there?
Any help appreciated...

Check the recent posts (do a search).
I didn't know they did a PPL scheme .... The form for the CPL/ATPL scheme is available off the net but I can't remember what the site is. There is a link from this forum somewhere. Check there .... there maybe some stuff about the PPL scheme there. If you apply for the CPL/ATPL scheme, don't worry about it too much - the deadline for submissions is August.

JN Somers scholarship, GAPAN
Hello,
Has anyone else been invited to the aptitude tests on 12th September?
I am presuming it will be the normal tests, Verbal reasoning, Numerical, etc. But if anyone knows differently, please let me know.

If I were you guys, I'd start practising drawing little straights line very fast with my left hand (I'm right-handed). Also try drawing the letter 's' out over and over again very fast, alternating between forwards and backwards,

I'll be there too.
I wonder how many have been shortlisted for this test? Apparently last year it was about 20.
I've just looked on the Morrisby website and checked out the sample tests which are very similar to the full RAF aptitude tests. I don't suppose that anyone would know if the second half of the RAF test is Morrisby or not?
Cheers.
Edited for not being quite fully awake.

Great news!
A couple of questions:
Will they consider applicants that have already applied in the past?
Will they consider applicants that have already started PPL training?
Which FTO is responsible for supplying this course?
Thanks

TheNavigator - Sorry but neither the website nor the application is very helpful in answering any of your questions. There is however space on the application form to outline any flying experience you already have, so I suppose they may well be willing to accept people who've already done some flying.
