DHC6 Twin Otter - BN2 Islander.
HI all!
It could appear like a duel.
Definitely focused on these 2 airplanes,
it really seems strange to me that i could only find two organizations/companies providing me with a type rating on these a/p for my marvelous JAA license.
DHC6 -> Flight Safety
-> Loganair ended this training.
BN2 -> Britten Norman Training.
Stop. that's all.
Maybe have I missed anything ?
Anyone could integrate this really 'short' list?
Thank you ,very much!
bye.

Nuovomondo,
What exactly is your experience?
I hope you are a chief pilot looking for somewhere to train crews?
In which case Isle of Scilly Skybus are a TRTO for the Twin Otter. But they are very unlikely to do a rating for a private individual.
If you are a low houred JAA pilot, then both types will be a complete waste of time for you. The turbine version of the Islander does require a rating.
For AOC work as it is single pilot aircraft, no one will touch you on a piston islander with less than a 1000 hours and 200 multi. For the turbine version most operators will want 1500 total with 500 multi. Although drop zones require less experience for Islanders; it is more than likley that anyone flying an Islander at a drop zone will have completed a season of para dropping in some kind of piston single first.
Most twin otter operators I am aware of have their own TRTO status, hence will train their own crews therefore tend not to be in the market of selling ratings to private individuals. As most Otters are used in "bush" locations then most of these operators will probably look to recruit pilots with a season or two of single engine bush flying experience.
Anyway if you are a seasoned air taxi pilot accept my apologies, but if you are a low houred fresh qualifier I would suggest you haven't really done your research.

portsharbourflyer,
thank you very much for your answer.
Really useful and accurate!
We come to the point.
yes, I have been 'exposed', well, I'm a pilot with few hours.
A LOW HOURS PILOT.
But from somewhere I' ll have even to start, isn't it?
There's a lot of people who continually offers absurd type rating training for 737 or ..,
I want to get a type rating for one of these airplanes in Europe, at a serious organization,
do not giving 'trouble' to any old bush pilot,
and run away for charter flights between the islands somewhere in the Ocean, far from here, in the New_world ,without necessary having to fly in extreme places. Is that so impossible? Maybe.
thanks again for any other suggestions!!

Nouvomondo,
I respect you for wanting to go a different way than self funding on a 737 but I wouldnt waste your money doing it on an islander or DHC6 either.
Not sure about the Twotter but I think the only people who fly the turbine islander are either the police or the army, either way you need to either get another few thousand hours or become a squady first.

yep
yep for army you need to be in it and for cops you need 2000 with at least 500 pic multi.
The minimum , the very minimum you will need to fly one of these craft is 700 hrs 100 ifr and 40 ,multi

Nuovomondo,
Don't give up. The Islander is not such a good option as what you read is correct. You will need a substantial amount of hours on the plane before being hired.
Meanwhile, you can be hired as a F/O on Twin Otter with about 250 hours and the type rating from Flight Safety. As a matter of fact I know someone who got his first job that way.
Good luck.
