Seeing as this will pobably be your first job the rosters and destinations should be the last thing to worry about. If its not your first job then the fact that your looking to work in Indo as an experienced ATR driver means that your willing to take anything making the roster and destinations again irrelivant.
Seriously though its going to be a regional gig so the flying will be just that. Based out of Jakarta or Surabaya you will do the routes the others already do.

yeah pilotchute, you are probably right. This will be my first airline job provided they hire me. Important for me now is the hours and experience as not many airline give ATR rated guys like myself a chance especially with no hours on type.They are paying pretty well too so I cant complain. Are you flying the ATR?

For FOs without hours on type the IAT scheme via flygosh is actually a pay to fly scheme.
The advert on the flygosh website doesn't state it is pay to fly, but when you get the details through it is a pay to fly scheme.

Look at all the schemes he advertises for,
Citilink $45K for non typre rated
Sri wijaya $27K if already holding a type rating
Merpati $27K for type and line training on a MA60? All the expats getting hired before flygosh paid nothing upfront other than a 2K fee for licence and visa processing.
The difference is you get a 3 year contract and get paid from start of line training. So it's a bit like Ryanair I suppose. I hear they charge 30K pounds for a type rating. Thats criminal!!!

In a positive way, I see this as an opportunity to kick start my career to gain experience and build my hours as besides Indonesia, no other country will accept my low hours qualification.
Though I wish to fly jets of course, but I couldn't afford the fee especially lion air through eagle jet.
Anyone been through the IAT interview before? Would be great if someone can share the recruitment process especially the interview part.What kind of tech questions?

27k for a Kitas?
Really guys? You think that a licence and work visa for Indo costs 27K? By the way a Kitas is what you need to work in indo as an expat. They dont cost that much. The medical and Indo CPL conversion is all not that expensive. Where the whole system falls down though is the bribes that are paid to get your papers through in anything less than an eternity!
I must state that all up your conversions and medicals etc would be lucky to be more than 2k. (3k at the most)
To Mr Farjones. If you want to fly a jet why did you get an ATR rating? The rating was what 18k Euro's? Now your paying 27K USD for line training and a 3 year contract?

Hi pilotchute, well I am not going to start the topic on whether p2f is good or not as done by many other thread.
I have been jobless for quite a long time and if I dont start flying and collecting hours, the risk and money lost is far greater. I my as well burn my euro 70k CPL license as well as my type rating cost up.
Before this I have send my resume to almost 50 companies round the world with no reply or the usual "we only take our own citizens".
Plus is not that I am working for free as all in plus allowance,i can get + - USD40,000 per year to recover back my investment cost. Even in the states, fresh pilots in regional get paid much lower than that.
Finally I always believe in the phrase " you scratch my back I scratch yours ", if they can help me start my career, they deserve something in return as there are no free lunch in this world.

Not to make your plight seem less serious, It took me 3 years to land my first job. Patience was running out.
I think pay to fly has its place but it isn't a cure all. If you think you must then do it. I was just curious as to why you bought a ATR rating if you say you want to fly a jet.
Next, Jakarta. If your going there and want real budget accommodation that is good and friendly then go to Jalan Jaksa and head for a place called memories. Only a couple of rooms have aircon which are 1 and 5. Ring ahead and they will hold them for you. They will be 200,000IDR a night which is 20USD around about. MUCH CHEAPER than anywhere else. You get ensuite, Cable TV and aircon. Nice bar downstairs that gets a mix of locals and expats and is only noisy on Friday nights. Excellent malaysian restaurant next door.

Nope, have not been call up yet. The minimum is CPL plus ATR rating . I am rated with zero hours on type. You can see the min req at flygosh.com

Yes, the last email has invited everyone that applied to attend an interview in Indonesia in the beginning of July.
It is described by Andy as a golden opportunity, the only golden opportunity I can see is for flygosh to make alot of money.
All I ask is everyone have some back bone refuse to pay for this scheme; then if the airline really needs crews it will be forced to recruit under normal terms.
I guess the above is naive optimism.

I find it strange how Flygosh's Andy can select a group of pilot candidates for this, but he is himself a pay to flyer at Sriwijaya airlines, who can't even progress past simulator sessions on the 737? Word in Jakarta circles is that Merpati now refuses to use this mob for future recruitment...

I have been invited for the interview and test to be held on the 2nd july but a friend of mine who is flying for lion air says that airlines in indonesia do not prefer female pilots, is it true?

Apart from Eaglejet and flygosh avia, it's very hard to find a legitimate agent who can successfully place jobs for fresh pilots to fly in Indonesia.
Most other agents like parc or rishworth can do the job but it's always the experience pilots only. The usual minimun 1500 hours and 500 on type.
Recently a big number of fresh pilots were scam up to a staggering price of usd 60k by global aircrew,knots and glorietta as an empty promise to fly in citilink. Just have to be careful which agent you are dealing with before you kiss your money goodbye.

Thought I'd apply and they short-listed me for the interview but I do not hold an ATR rating, anyone else accepted without it? Also does your mecir need to be current for a conversion over there as mine isn't at the present, thinking it may just be renewed during the process.
