HWD whilst giving you some splendidly technically correct advice has forgotten to add that few airlines offer the luxury of a combined MCC and TR. Most will ask that you have a MCC completed prior to undertaking a TR. Reason is cost and availability of the sims. Last thing they need is to be training you for an MCC when they have potentially thousands of pilots doing OPC/LPC's/command sim checks etc etc. The upshot is that you should go and get a MCC in advance or else risk missing out on that RHS job. You do not want to be in the position of having a type rating starting next week and then be advertising on these forums seeking a partner at short notice to do an MCC to tick the boxes.
