Assessment day with Atlantic Airways?
Hi guys,
I have just been invited to attend a written assessment day with Atlantic Airlines on Saturday 23rd June. Throughout the day we will be tested on
"McQuaig Occupational Tests a Word Survey Profile, an English Proficiency Test, a Maths Proficiency Test and an Applied Science Proficiency Test".
Has anybody done these tests, if so what sort of questions are in the papers?
Many thanks
Dan

Hi Dan.
I've been selected for this and invited down on the same day, but also know nothing about it. I've got friends down that way so might stay over on Friday night and have an easy one on Saturday, we see. What does anyone know?

I don't know where you can get the tests, but I suspect a google search may be of help. Be aware that the tests cannot be 'cheated', it's a personality test. Apparently it is designed to highlight discrepancies, where you have answered falsely in the hope of creating the right impression. Just put down what you believe to be the most accurate answer and you should be ok. Either you are what the company are looking for or you're not.
As for the English Maths and Science, just brush up on what you learnt at GCSE and you can't go far wrong. Nothing too terrible, fairly basic stuff. Good luck on Saturday chaps!

There was a link to some McQuaig test on this thread whoever posted it has deleted them..
Basically you need to be good at pattern recognition, maths and it will also help if you know your basic physics/mechanics formula for energy/acceleration e.g. u squared plus half m v squared and all that. This is timed.
There is also a temperament test which I don't know how to cheat at, not sure if the results are that important... you're asked to score yourself on certain aspects, then again over the page using similar but different terms but this time how you think people rate you. I think both sides are tallied somehow. No time limit.
It also helps if you are the correct age

Nerrr you old git Dean
Though the application rules now omit the 25 year age limit, if you look at the intake they fit a certain profile none of them are over 25 and come to think of it, none of them are female either

Not to bad, some of the word ones I found a bit tricky, looked them up when I got home! (geek!). Applied was fine, as was numeracy. Saying this I have probably flunked big time. Has anyone heard anything from Kay yet? Not had anything through email as of yet.
Cheers

Check your emails. Tomorrow. The sim day has been rolex'ed as well.
Didn't go too badly. Applied maths was the worst, but nothing completely unhandleable. Forgot my velocity equations from school though - shameful!
