You might like to look here. I can't remember exactly what the requirements are to become a RFDS pilot but I believe it to be in the region of 2,000hrs minimum PIC. I know there was an enormous waiting list both for pilots and nurses a couple of years ago.

Just been looking on the website but cant find out any info on pilot requirements. Are we talking ATPL? Does anybody have any info on any small tour operator companies?
