Scroggs is of course right as far as wear something smart and comfortable and no need to go over the top. However, I think the less experience you have or the more ambitious the job is compared with your current status then the more you should put in the extra effort a la pilotbear. For instance, someone straight out of university going for a sponsorship with BA should be paying attention to all the little details and it will make a difference to the interviewers. Conversely, a man of scroggs experience going for an interview with easyjet or Virgin may be fine in cords and a wooly jumper, especially if it facilitates a relaxed atmosphere.
For the vast majority of cases, a decent suit and tie, hanging 2-3 inches below the bottom of your beer gut will do nicely.
By the way Milt,
"Try to excell and foster the ambition."
I believe you meant excel, although queen's english isn't my first language. Put in a bit more effort and one day you'll go far

Hey,
there's a good book: 'Ace, the technical pilot interview' with technical questions that could be asked at an interview.
You can buy it on the transair.co.uk site!
Anyway, I think there could be some questions about planning and performance!
Good luck!
bye

Interview Tips
Last year I qualified from an integrated school here in the UK. No look with job yet but hoping for something in the future.
Could anyone offer me advice on what questions to expect at interviews. Anything that tends to come up again and again. Anything worth reading up on.
My only real aviation experience is from my training so is it safe to assume that questions will be based on the kind of things from ground school?
Any topics worth going over?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I knew of a guy who went for an interview with BA and was told “Any Monkey can fly a plane, what makes you a better Monkey than the rest?” How do you answer that one?!

I know a bloke who was asked what his house was worth, what his mortgage was etc, we discussed this aferwards and could not come up with any good reason to assess asset value other than to see if he really needed the money that much

'I'm going to ring up your last boss and ask why you left the airline. What is he going to say?'
That one is a pig if you left on bad terms . . .
Probably the worst was asked by a lady psycholigist as part of the Britannia selection:
'How long can you afford to stay out of work?'
Well out of order that one. A deliberate play to see how much money you have. The issue being that if you are well off you might be a more independently minded employee.
The only answer to that sort of rot is a polite:
'I'm sorry, but that is more information than you need to know'.

heard of a good one, but i was never actually asked it...
you are night-stopping in a nice hotel, when the captain knocks on your door.
you open the door to see your captain standing there in a dress and high heels and says, shall we go down to the bar for a drink?
what would you do?

I was asked if i managed to find the interview building ok. Then asked how the traffic was, what route I took, then once lured into taking this as exchanging pleasntries was asked if at any time on the 200 mile journey I broke the speed limit!
Excellent question, cos of course I did at some point as almost everyone does. Do you lie and make yourself sound perfect or admit to it? I admitted to it and then was told that I probably bust minima too.
Lucky It was only on an interivew preperation course not the real interview!

Friend of mine was going through the final stages of his flight crew recruitment process.
He was sat in a room with a psychologist type chap who chucked him an orange and asked what he was going to do with it.
He threw it back and said, 'You peel it, I'll eat it'.
He got the job !
