I'm looking for info. on Loganair's selection day.
I believe there is a short technical paper followed by an interview (?) Anyone know anything further ?

Do you have an interview then Happy ?? I'm sure there are a few others in the same boat and would also like answers to your question.
I'd also be interested in what the selection requirements are and how long you might have been waiting.
Everything has gone quiet on the Loganair front over the last few months despite several pilots moving on to bigger aluminum tubes. It would seem as though the regionals are gearing up to recruit or in the process of recruiting. Hopefully this includes Eastern, Flybe et al ?

Hello chaps.
Rumour has that Loganair will be having quite a large recruitment in the not so distant future. There is a strong possiblity of some more Saabs in the new year and you're absolutely right in that many have been tempted away to the great orange tree house.
As a first commercial job you can't do better than Loganair. Obviously a small comapny where you will get to know people quite quickly but more importantly the experience you get flying around the Scottish islands (and beyond) doing multliple short sectors with VOR/NDB/DME approaches in snow and 35kt winds is without comparison.
When I was there the interview was a very practical exersise but the personalities have changed since then. Remember that the competition will be fierce so prepare well and try to imagine the questions you'll be asked and your responses. But in the same breath don't try too hard - they want to see a regular guy who wil fit into the company and will enjoy a beer on a cold winters night in Kirkwall. Try to provide proof of why they should take you and not the next guy - exam results, work experience etc...
Good luck.

I can't really see Loganair operating any type of aircraft on their routes other than the SAAB? They seem to be ideal size and performance wise-I can't see any reason why they would voluntarily want to operate the ATP?
Not so sure about Eastern though....
