Can confirm the structure of the assessment. Held at EPST in Utrecht. Straight forward and very friendly atmosphere. We were 10 people, mostly Boeing (737/747/777/787) experience but a few other a/c types as well. Approx 50/50 split FO/CPT among the people. Received feedback from the assessment the following afternoon.

Late to the party but I figured I would throw my hat into the ring. A few questions though.
What is worse for stalling conditions? Light mass fwd CG, heavy mass rearward CG, ? This would depend on if it is a high or low winged aircraft?
Also I am not understanding some of the answers given above.
- At a constant TAS, load factor depends on?
Also wondering for those of you that have been through this assessment. The tunnel flying "game" what was that? Are you just moving vertically or? Trying to read up on it but can't find a single thing about it. Also, great write up from all, this is golden stuff!

Has anyone been to an assessment lately? Are they still actively hiring non-type rated?
How long does it generally take for them to get into contact after the application?
Thanks!

A friend that has worked for them for a few years now. He is sitting at home and seriously considering to make a move.
There seems to be some issues with a contract and they are not operating flights they had planned for with the recent recruitment drives.

A true and ongoing story about Air Atlanta!
I am a Capt B747, B737 TRI TTL 15k+ hours
I was on the selection in July 2022. Friendly and quick interview in Utrecht, and I was in the OCC course on the 15th of August. I passed all exams and enrolled on the sim in early September. Good sim, excellent results, and the day of the OPC came. I got my ticket previously to JED for the line training. All of my collages got the ID card but me. I called the chief pilot's office to clarify it, and I got a positive response that they would follow it up until my trng, and AAI would post it to me. Ok.
I was about to go to the OPC, and the taxi was waiting downstairs when I got a phone call from the HR office in Iceland. She introduced herself as an HR project assistant and wondered if I had a doctor's prescribed painkiller around the time of the drug test in August. ( AAI prescribed a drug test from the hair, which I have done a few times in my life, and no panic for me).
I said NO. HR Lady asked me if I was sure about it, and when I responded, sure, but why are they asking it, She said she had to fill out a form for my ID card request. Strange though, but I confirmed once more, no painkiller, just a few pills for the pain in my shoulder. We finished our conversation, and I went and passed the OPC.
After returning to my Hotel, I got a mail that my line training was cancelled due to a shortage of LTC in JED. I have called the Crew control about it, and they said it is just a matter of logistic reasons, no panic, I go home to my home, and in a few days, I will be rescheduled for the training. Very strange, though, so I tried to call the DFO about it. No response, nor from the planning. Just bull****ing. I asked if there was any issue with the ID card, but again no response.
I came home and opened my mail the next morning, and I was shocked by the following correspondence:
Dear Mr XXX
We have been advised by our client Air Atlanta Icelandic that unfortunately they are no longer in a position to offer you any further contract work. Therefore, we regret to inform you that your contract will be terminated in accordance with the Terms & Conditions with immediate effect.
If you have any outstanding fee claims or expenses, please report them in the usual manner.
Due to increased aviation security and in keeping with the contract we would ask you to kindly return your ID, uniforms, iPads (if they have been provided), and any other company property you may have in your possession to the client.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries regarding contractual issues or if we can be of any assistance to you.
I immediately called ABP, but AAI did not inform them about the valid reason in the first place. ABP asked me what I did. I said nothing, but I need a proper reason to terminate the signed fixed-term contract. I told them to clarify it. After a long discussion with ABP learned "not official source" that I had failed the drug test, and they fired me. But they did not provide any evidence to ABP due to GDPR. I called my doctor immediately, and I got verification that in April (!) , I got a medicine which may contain opiates. That might be the valid reason for the possible result. I forgot this, in September, that I got something in April.
In reality, HR called me, but they did not mention if it was about the drug test or if I risked my job, and because my answer was NO, they treated the result they had as a DRUG, they sent me home, and called ABP to fire me.
From that point on, AAI cut all communication and email access. I got the number only of the DFO, who does not respond to normal and kind emails. No ABP nor AAI is not interested in the doctor's verification, and I didn't get the labour result of the test to see what they found and to compare it with the medicine I got.
In case of any discipline issue, AAI calls ABP if somebody is about to terminate (usually, if the person does anything or violates the regulation and does not want to return), and ABP executes their order. But in my case, they try or tried to terminate me without a valid written reason. Drug consumption is a serious accusation; it must be proved. But AAI does not send any data to me. The labour result what they keep is my data. AAI or ABP need to clear my status to avoid any negative references, but if they would do this, they should take me back, because the proof is in my hand. Catch 22.
It is true, If I read the lines properly, legal and contract-wise, ABP is my contact, and AAI is responsible for professional matters only. But the problem is, they keep my DATA, which is the key to the whole story.
But this is embarrassing, shocking and unfair. I have never had any drug in my life. We all know what we risk with that.

Air Atlanta B777
Apparently Air Atlanta is heavily or desperately recruiting for B777. Any idea what operation it will be as there is very little or none information about it online.

That is correct FH, Air Atlanta is a ACMI operator in Europe that has Saudia as their client for over 30 years now. In the past they used to do regular scheduled flts but now it´s only Hajj and Umrah. They used to do it on the 747 but Saudia demanded newer a/c and so they’ve finally introduced the 777-300ER.
Base is Jeddah(they’ll fly u there at the start of your roster) and I guess they’ll be offering schedules like 21 on and 14 off or 24 on and 12 off. Don’t know much about the pay though. But please do remember all contracts are zero hours, so no work no pay, vacation no pay, sick no pay. Very straight forward agreement, you are not an employee, you are a contractor.
Currently they have too many pilots on the 747, they’re hoping more pilots leave in the coming months and are obviously hoping to recruit more 777 drivers. It is a company different from all others, so things are done in reverse here compared to the regular carriers. Good Luck.

Yes, initially it’s a 12 month contract and renewable every year. It seems like this will be the future at AAI, 777. I think by the end of the year they’ll start another hiring drive because the hope is to have 2 more by february 2024. At AAI they prefer hiring than converting pilots from the other fleet so lots of opportunities for new hires. I don’t have any info on the pay but they are paid better than the 747 jockeys, I suspect the 747 to be totally retired in about 5-7 years .

Well, in fact B777 being a pax only fleet at the moment, the chances of staying at home on zero pay for a considerable amount of time might be a bit high.
Better to wait and see for now...

Does Air Atlanta still have a system where you only get paid for days at work and no pay when at home?
If that's the case, are there times were crew sit idle at home for months at a time?
