US based freighters
I'm an SO on the 744 (obviously HK based) and have a few Q's.
How long before an SO could move to FO on the freighter if they wanted to do so?
Would upgrade be faster to a 742F than a 744F?
Are there any 742's based in the US, Canada or Alaska?
(Interested in US, Canada or Alaska base.)
Thanks,
Beechjet

I think you can move over to the freighters, but you need medium jet, I believe, whatever the published minimums are for freighter, as pre-joining experience. Otherwise, you have to go the JFO route, which isn't a bad idea.
If you don't have command turboprop over 20,000 KGS, you need Airline Jet Transport, which I believe has a weight restriction of 40,000 KGS or something. Don't quote me, but I hope it helps.

I think it an indication of the sad breakdown in corporate communications that this question has to be asked here. Presumably the Conditions of Service don't have the answer, and you feel hesitant to approach a manager for the answer.
Or join the AOA. They have the answer to questions like this.
