Thumbs up

I've so far only seen one FI course advertised. That was Redhill, but that's a long way to go for you. (Even further for me - I'm in Newcastle)

Hope it goes well. You'll be one of the first to do the rating, so I hope there's no teething trouble with the course!

Good luck anyway.

Ideal one for you would seem to be Leicestershire Aero Club on 0116 259 2360. Next nearest would probably be Atlantic Flight Training at Coventry, 01203 307566, Walkbury Flying Club at Sibson, 01733 235187, or even Hunting Aviation at RAF Barkston Heath, 01400 230904. These are from a list I got from the CAA in June so I'm not sure how current the info is now. There are about 40 schools on the list in the UK.
Luvly Jubbly, you sure about that ? I got an FI(R) rating in July (Halfpenny Green). No problems with the course, I would think most schools would have no problem with the transition - it's just an increase in the amount of ground school, albeit a rather large increase.
Cheers DB6
PS Vetflyer, I'd be obliged if you'd let me know how accurate this info turns out to be as I trot it out every time someone asks about an FI course on PPRuNe and if it's been superseded I'll try and get some new stuff.

It is a bit of a trot but RFC Bourn is worth it - Lindsay Brown on 01954 719 602.

Roger all the info,DB6. - Good stuff.
Vetflyer, perhaps you might try Neil Voce on 0116 259 3660. Neil's at Leics.Aero Club - great bloke and very experienced.

Cool

Does Steve Marples not now do Instructor courses at Newcastle? He did a few years ago, maybe he has moved on though.

BTW - if you DO feel like going further afield we presently have one spare slot for an FIC course starting on 1st November.
