ID travel to SYD Australia
Hi Folks,
I'm planning to head over to Australia (on vacation) in early March 05.
I am wondering if the chances of getting on at the first try out of lets say Santiago, Chile would be better then out LAX or SFO when traveling on an ID 90.
If anyone has any other suggestions on how to get to SYD from the northwest Caribbean, I'd be grateful
(otherwise I'll just buy a roundtrip ticket which I can get for about a grand US.)
thanks, fluf

For what it's worth, I understand LAN's SCL-AKL-SYD flights go out very full, even in premium cabins, and most of the inventory is sold by QF. I've heard of people getting cleared SYD-AKL only to get bumped on the AKL-SYD segment. LA have local rights to AKL-SYD and with cheap fares seem to fill the plane. LAX/SFO might be a decent bet, most non-revvers I know of go via HNL.
