@ Albert Salmon ... thanks for the IoD feedback. You will undoubtedly be asked to prove that by a man wearing a Keir Hardie cap, of course

Ladies and gentlemen, you can bang your gums endlessly on the esoteric subjects of "Doors 5" and "CSD helping with a trolley". The differences between LHR and LGW have been a revelation, as has the assertion that LHR crews apparently need more CC for handling easier customers.

However, the fact remains that customers may be the least of your problems in the future. There won't be enough of them to support the company. It's as simple as that.

I'm a Bassa member.

It is relatively easy to search for your own past posts.

Please provide a link or even a screen shot, if such a post exists!

Hi Meal chucker, if you are a bassa member you are welcome to welcome to search for it yourself.

You've been believing the delusional Bassa posts again, FE.

Have you been to the Unite website? Try posting that you are a pilot that wishes to switch to Unite. The website refers you to Balpa. So not possible.

No, it's dependent on BA forcing you guys into line. By the end of March, if you guys haven't achieved the required savings, we revert to previous pay.

The fact is that these SCCMs are the hard line militants who can't be bothered to prise themselves from the video screen and contribute to the service. Those that habitually got their hands dirty (most CSDs from my experience) and mucked in serving passengers (shock, horror) have had no problems. The minority moan to the customers, and get their just desserts.

Can you imagine going in to John Lewis and hearing the senior shop assistant apologise for the delay in providing a service to customers, due to management imposed staffing levels?
What would be your response?

"Tw*t" would be mine.

So they vent their spleen on unsuspecting paying passengers, do they?

This would be intolerable outside BAbaland. In fact, it would be considered gross misconduct - which is a sacking offence in any normal company.

Tried that - strangely enough can't find a post on the Bassa forum or Crew forum from anyone requesting a 20% pay cut!

Now there's a surprise!

You could not have been more apposite if you had tried, TTB! I bought such a titfer at Dunn's this morning.

Have you tried flying Blue Island from Jersey? A really good service, and quite a memorable experience, too.

No DF, and no cabin service either - but then again Blue Island does not need CC - thank heaven.

Just seen on the Bassa website that DH (the branch secretary) has been suspended, and no-one is allowed to discuss it on the Bassa forum.

The plot thickens, this whole situation is taking many twists and turns. I can't keep up!

but then he followed that by telling me
Quote:
I wish you would just move on without insulting people

Mr Salmon,
BA itself has a zero tolerance when it comes to any forms of abuse, including verbal.
I don't think that at any stages in this forum I have been rude to you and yet you have ,without even knowing me.
I can assure that I value every single customers , but that does not give anyone the right to be rude or abusive.

Allegedly, of course...

Apparently one of these csd's started the briefing with the words
"if anyone didn't vote yes you can f**k off now!"

Please Willie, sack 'em, so the good ones can work without harrassment!

I have to say I've had 3 outstanding crews over the holiday period,
and those crew who had voted yes were clear they wouldn't have gone on strike and wouldn't vote yes again.

It seems the slo-mo train crash is reaching the buffers before 1 Feb.

How very interesting.

Allegedly.

My views are those of a paying customer - that is my only linkage with BA.

wiggy

Of course Gatwick is a hub, but Heathrow is the major one, by far. My post was in answer to romans who asked why major airlines jumped at the chance to move from Gatwick to Heathrow. Apart from the routes, the business opportunity of more passengers passing through Heathrow is a consideration.

Neither reason though is justification for LHR CC to think that they have to have more crew per aircraft than Gatwick CC!!!

mr salmon

mr salmon, im a passenger also like yourself, and not happy about all these strike threats in the current climate, however i find your attitude towards the crew really quite rude, if you are no longer flying ba why do you keep posting on the crew thread? you seem to be taking pleasure in the thought of people losing their jobs. it is obvious from reading this forum that a lot of crew such as slidebustle are unhappy about the situation and want to continue to provide a good service, it must be very dispiriting for them to read all your vindictive comments.

Peterlondon , I am also a BA customer but I do not find that Mr Salmon is rude or offensive to most BA CC just the lemmings who follow BASSA. You yourself have in the past mentioned some poor behaviour by BA CC and are also a CC wanabee, so maybe if you had joined BA you would have voted yes?

@ peterlondon ... some of the unflattering comments by customers of BA are NOT directed at the generality of BA CC, only those who seem determined to bring down either the company or Mr Walsh through IA ... regardless of the damage so caused.

I think a large number of CC on this thread [perhaps as many as 94% ] understand where he and I are coming from.

Please don't take offence, but have you read the whole thread?

wannabe?

im not a cc wannabe, i have a good job thank you.
i have experienced good and bad crew on ba,and have posted about it but i think saying "see you at the job centre" etc is bad manners and not helpful in any way. i dont see any difference between mr salmons posts and the nasty posts quoted from bassa
