Thanks for all your replies.I know that these are real concerns for a lot of people.
Looking forward to having baggage handlers as body guards!!
You will get a pretend commission slip, assuming the CSD presses the print button.Goes straight into your pay now.
See you on board

It's the scale on which the us armed forces postulate themselves. Defcon 1 is unrestricted warfare, nuclear style!
Bit like what ww got planned for the strike.
Looking forward to my time on the trolley, and all those lovely mini cheddars.

Thanks all of you, I understand the strange US military jargon now.
Judging by the e-mail I just received, if you were ever a JJ you can press the print button yourself! 4 days training and you can be your own CSD.
Better hope they don't assign you to Eurofleet then, no mini cheddars in my world.
assuming the CSD presses the print button

The Heavy Heavy,
If you get to work on the jumbo you should try and do either 5 or 9 if you want to get a commission slip! They are the best positions (if you don't want to work in Club). You still get commission if you don't get a DF position but a lot more if you and actually sell something.

Welcome BAcrewboy
Thanks for the replies - it's nice to know that the public and the flight crew are not out against CC as a whole. I am so pleased that I have joined this forum to be able to speak freely without fear of reprisal from my colleagues.
Tell your mates where they can find us!

Watersidewonker #2410
Remember you are talking about an airline that can't even function with a little bit of snow on the ground
Your CEO, notwithstanding the utmost efforts of your union to stymie him, did indeed keep BA flying during the recent snow.
Nevertheless, not even Watersidewonker in his/her most baleful mood, can place the blame for snow storms at the feet of Willie Walsh.

This Thread
This thread is in my opinion, littered with Pilots who have double standards - there are Pilots on here boasting about how 'evil' BASSA are and that they will willingly work for the company as Cabin Crew etc
Yet only a few months back they themselves have posted here in public that they would be willing to 'bring the company down' - smacks of double standards I'm afraid

MissM,
if I'm working down the back it means there are no jumbos to fly?
The big question is will you be with me? I really hope you can see past the lies and spin and protect yourself from what is coming.
If not, best of luck on the outside.

THH,
I thought you were volunteering to work as cabin crew.
I probably won't be with you for several reasons! If there is a strike on March 1st it will cover almost half of my part-time week and after that I have another four days off.

The strike is unlikely to start before 1st March MissM. Part-time days won't be an excuse for dodging a decision. BA will expect you to be available to work on those days and will notify you in good time so that you can make suitable arrangements.
Usual disclaimers apply!

I see a three months temp. posting has been offered to engineering as well with a lot of people showing a great deal of interest. When questioned our manager said he was told he could release people...no problem!
Interestingly these same folk are also members of unite.
A lot have also recently canx. membership!

I am, your reply was about jumbos, they won't be flying during a strike!
For clarity, if required I will be working down the back of a 777, actually looks like I'll be working up the front as well!
again given your part time cop out won't wash and your constant utterings on here are at times hard to comprehend a simple question. are you going to come to work or stay at home and accept the not minor consequences?
I'll respect either choice, I just hope your not sitting complaining that nobody warned you that your decision to stay at home would have some pretty dire consequences.
I'm not looking forward to the survival part of my course, do you think my time at the RNoAF artic survival school or the cac course will help me prepare?

Work 3 or 7 in that case!
I won't be coming to work and I thought that message was clear. After having read all of your replies about our training, if according to some it can even be called that, I'm sure that all of you will pass.
