Unhappy I want to become cabin crew.

Hi all,I've just been in contact with BA as I have become interested in becoming cabin crew as this may aid my flying career and I was told that I needed one year of working with the public which I do not have so is there any way of getting around this?

Hi lone eagle

try working for a ground handling agent, that'll give you plenty of customer service experience

Lone Eagle,
there are loads of handling agents about,
Servisair has the UK well covered www.servisair.co.uk , or Reeds / MAS / Globeground / Groundstar / Sigma / AFSL etc etc, have a look in the phone book for local numbers or give yr local airport a call

LONE EAGLE

WHY NOT TRY OTHER AIRLINE? NOT ALL NEED "PEOPLE" EXPERIENCE.
TRY GULF AIR. I HAVE BEEN WITH THEM FOR 9 YEARS AND STILL LOVE IT.

My daughter works as gnd crew for a major carrier, about nine months now.She applied to a lot of airlines for C.C previous to her present job with no luck.AS soon as she informed them about her update,GND CREW,they became interested.First interview coming up in july.It would help a spell on the gnd.

imho I,d try somebody else as well, the new starter rates at BA are guite bad (app £8.5k)average take home around £12-1500 I suppose its better than working for a living thou.
However if the KLM thing goes ahead we could be in surplus and the old saying of last in first out applys,a recent informed article in the indy newspaper said the above could cost 16,500 jobs 11+of those at BA and 4000 of these would be crew, pure speculation I know but theres no smoke without fire.I also bumped into a KLM crew down route and they want it and reckon its a done deal.

I'm an FO at Gatwick, I know my company need Cabin Crew shortly because there are many leaving for long haul.

e-mail me with your details if you want and I'll see what I can find out.

the important ones are age, looks and bra size.

Just kidding, flight deck aren't like that at all.
