Hello to all F/A's, potential F/A's, Pilots and any other Aviation Anoraks
I have deliberately used this subject title in the hope that it will attract your attention and you will read my message.
As I am new to all this I do hope you will forgive my possible blunders and mistakes. I might also mention that my hair colour is blonde so it is not hard for me!?!
I am most interested in becoming an F/A, especially with Skywest Airlines as I live in Perth. However, I wouldn't say no to working for one of the other smaller "charter" type companies in Perth who employ F/A's. I would be grateful if anyone could tell me what qualifications they require, along with names and addresses to post resumes to.
Also, does anyone know anything about places such as the Results Centre and Flight Dux. Apparantly, the Results Centre hold 1 day preparation courses in major cities around Australia. Has anyone been to one, or know of someone who has and are they worth it or not??? Flight Dux claims to prepare your resume in a way that the Airlines take notice of (for a small fee of course). Any info on this???
I would be most grateful for any replies and information
Cheers all.

Skywest would be great to work for as rumour has it they are interested in buying CRJ's like Kendell to expand ( A CRJ is a type of aircraft just in case you didn't know), but the other thing to know is that Qantas are opening a long haul base in Perth this year. Keep your ear to the ground, thats how me and my wannabe mates score interviews !
Good luck honey...but join the long que !![Smilie](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Miss Shagwell
Reading your profile you may be too "shagged" to stay on your feet for the required duty period.![Smilie](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I do know of several people who have done thos one day "how to become an FA type courses". Bit of a rip off really in their opinion - you can do your own research and get just as much info as you would do on the course. Some of them got in and others didn't - the ones that did certainly didn't think that the course had contributed to it.
BTW, your first name isn't Nicole by any chance is it? :eek
Pip pip!

I'll second that motion. The 'preparation courses' are a waste of money. They won't tell you anything you don't already probably know. There are no 'secrets' on how to get in. They're either going to like you or not so it doesn't matter what course you've done. I also happen to know for a fact, that the lady running the Results centre used to work for EK. She claimes to have worked for them for 3 years which is utter rubbish! She worked there for less that a year. Just be yourself and be impeccably groomed. Good luck!

The chick you are referring to who runs " The results centre " was once a flight attendant and as bird2perches said, she wasnt one for very long, she was an EK chick but got homesick. She also claims to know " all about " rejection as when she was younger she got rejected by Ansett. Her experience is in psychology not flight attending, however some of the lecturers who perform the seminars for her are great, when you go to the seminar you get a good idea on how to dress and interact with others for group interviews. ( I did a one day course a while ago with another flight attendant recruitment mob which I found helpful as they were AN,QF and ex Compass Girls)
She got rejected only once and claims to know all about it ! puhhleasee

Correct Cabinboy (well done on your new appointment by the way). She worked for EK for about 9 months during which time, she hardly ever flew because every time she stepped on board the a/c, she fainted. She also highly exagerated the pay and conditions on the front page of a Brisbane newspaper dressed in a Gulf Air uniform. When EK crew discovered she had actually printed a pack of lies and started up her own business they were pretty gob-smaked! Good luck to her though, apart from being dishonest about her EK existence, she was an OK person.

154000 Dirhams.................!!!!
FFFFAAAARRRRKKKKK...............!!!!!
If that sort of money was really on offer there:I wouldn't be back here now!!
Are you sure she was cabin crew,Cabin Boy??!!
To get $70'000 at EK,I can only sumise that she did more than fly!!

I can confirm that's exactly what she said and I too, would never have left EK if that's the sort of money they were paying. No-one would leave. We'd all be glad to suffer for the cash. It's nowhere NEAR $70000.00 - not even for Pursers and CSD's let alone grade 2's. She also likened DXB to the Gold Coast in Queensland. Absolutely ridiculous. While DXB is a lovely place, I wouldn't call it Surfers Paradise!

Shagwell - If WA is your bag, try National Jet Systems, they seem to recruit several times a year and have a fairly decent charter operation. Also they control the Airlink (QF sub)FA's, which simply means better pay and conditions than charter - but not half as much fun! Just contact the Senior Base FA at the airport.

Birds2perches,
Check this page out, this is all of the results centre newsclippings. Beside each scanned clipping someone has typed out the text of the clipping. In the clipping where she says that she earn't $70,000 a year they have somehow neglected to type that paragraph in.....weird huh ? I still have the clipping at home here which I have found of her claiming a $70,000 package for new recruits..very very intersting![Smilie](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/smile.gif)
