Hello,

Yes you still need to do all the things they require from the medical form they have sent you.

THEN, we still need to do another blood and x ray test here in Abu Dhabi (and I believe no charge...) That's what I think...

That's their policy here in the UAE...

Hey there, GO!! If u look like what they want I'm sure they'll interview u anyways. And, it's an arab company. U can just say that someone invited u and stick with it, and they wont be able 2 know if u werent in fact invited by someone from Etihad =).
Whats the worst that could happen? That they won't interview u? Well, if u don't go it's for sure they won't interview u!

I guess it will depend: @ the interview I attended, the recruiters stated clearly that it was invitation only; people who were not on the list, could not participate. I don t want to put your down or anything, just for your information...

But Sylvestria is right: just try, you have nothing to lose

standard process: 1) reach test (214 cm) 2)company presentation
3) 1-1 interview (why etihad, why do u want to become CC...)
4)english test (easy one) 5) individual presentation (speak 1 minute about a given subject)
6) groupsdiscussion 7) final interview

after stages 1, 4 and 6 people were sent home

after that you receive an e-mail wheter you passed or not, and later on they call you to join or process your medicals

since I am not a recruiter I am only guessing, like the rest of us...
but definitely not a cabin crew diploma (what a rip off!!)

this is what the recruitment officer said: we are looking for people who are flexible, helpful, good listeners etc..

This is nothing special, since these are qualities that EVERY CC should have..

Really Helpful Application Process

Hello Everyone, I have read all the forums and have realised alot of you guys are questioning about the processed AFTER the final interview. I have had the assessment centre with Etihad on the 3rd Nov and is now doing my Medicals, I researched and found on the net EMIRATES application process (in detail) and its extremely similar to Etihad's process from what I have expreienced first hand. so Please let me know if this helps.

Here’s the last part of the application procedure for the position of Cabin Crew of Emirates Airline.
Once you reached the final interview stage in the selection day, the Recruiter Staff will then mention that you will hear from them in 30 days. This means that you pass the final selection of the Recruitment Department. You need to prepare yourself for the other requirements. On the other hand, if you didn’t receive an email notice from them in 30 days, then don’t expect anymore.
For MGA’s case, he received this email notice last May 7, 2007 & the subject was “OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT - DOJ 27/7/07″.
Don’t be mistaken with this subject. First, it’s really an employment offer though you still need to undergo medical examination. Meaning, it is not advisable to resign on your current job until Emirates will say so. Second, DOJ 27/7/07, means that MGA’s joining date was on July 27,2007. This joining date is still be under final confirmation until you passed the medical examination too.
Anyway, the email includes your new CONFIDENTIAL JOINING NUMBER. You need to take note of this joining number since this will be your reference in the online application forms. This will be you reference too, in their Recruitment Department for any future follow-up. For any queries, you need to specify this joining number with your name & direct your email to [email protected]
Numerous documents are attached on the said email to fully accomplish your final stage in this application. Such documents are;
•I. Offer Letter which the file name is your full name.
This file is a 10-pages letter that clearly specifies the Emirates’ offer. On page 8 of this file, there’s a Declaration part which requires your signature as acceptance to the discussed offer. This declaration page needs to be scan & send back to their Recruitment Department.
The page 9 is a Letter of confirmation of Resignation that you need to settle on your current employer. The last page is the complete checklist of the required documents - PRIOR TO JOINING & ON JOINING.
•II. Drug List for Cabin Crew
It’s the complete list of drugs prohibited in United Arab Emirates and need not to bring any of these into the country.
•III. New Checklist Handbook
It is a summary of the steps you have to follow or documents you have to submit to complete the joining formalities. The steps have been put in order of priority. You need to take note that your DATE OF JOINING THE COMPANY & HENCE THE DATE FROM WHICH YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR EMPLOYMENT RELATED BENEFITS will be only after you complete steps mentioned in this list and your employment visa is endorse on your passport.
Since they specified your possible joining date, you need to confirm if you can travel on that date or if you need to change it. However, you may join in or before the date of contract.
This application is only valid for 6 months from your date of interview. If you do not join within this time you will go through the whole process again and your contract status will stand withdrawn.
The last document attached in the email is for the medical examination. You need to print this form & take it to your doctor. The doctor will fill-up the forms after doing the necessary tests.
•IV. New Overseas Cabin Crew PEM Forms
It is advisable to complete the medical tests as soon as possible, so you will not have delays for your joining in Emirates. These forms need to be complete and approved by a certified doctor and then sent to Emirates Recruitment Department within 2 weeks from the date you receive the email. You also need to ask your Doctor to provide you with the necessary reports for the following tests:
  • 1. HIV test
  • 2. Hemoglobin Count
  • 3. A Detailed Chest X-ray report about heart & lungs
  • 4. Audiogram report & graph (graph is very important for the approval)
  • 5. Cervical smear test report for ladies applicants.
  • 6. Dental certificate
  • 7. Vaccination certificate with the initial course date.
Emirates requires a separate report for each test. It is also advisable to take your medical examination to the Emirates certified doctor/hospital.
Applicants need to take note pre-employment medical is preliminary medical. Applicants should pass the following stages;
  • 1. EK Air Crew License Medical
  • 2. Training
  • 3. Probationary Period
Once your pre-employment medical and pre-joining formalities have been successfully completed, Emirates will call you to confirm your date of joining and will ask you to send notice period in your present employer.
Upon traveling to Dubai, you need to bring the following documents with you as well;
  • 1. The original medical forms, reports & X-rays
  • 2. 20 passport size pictures, not Polaroid & not digital
  • 3. 4 pictures with the size 3 x 3.5 cm (either whole body or half body), not Polaroid & not digital.
  • 4. Passport copies & birth certificates copy (for each of your immediate family members)
  • 5. Original educational certificates (provide extra copy too)
  • 6. 2 reference letters from your previous employers. Make sure it is stamped by them. It is a mandatory requirement before you join the Emirates group.
Finally, you are also required to complete the ON LINE JOINING FORM. The On-Line Joining Form can be found by clicking the Selected Candidates button in the main Website Menu. Once you have reached the “Selected Candidates” area, follow the prompt & click the On Line Joiners Form. Enter your Application Reference Number (confidential joiners number) & your email address to gain access to the restricted part of the website.
You guys must have been wondering, but MGA paid for his own Medical & Dental Examination.
Upon submission of those medical results, Emirates will call you within 30 days if you’re approved. Then they will send thru email your e-ticket & visa.

hi all, an invitation was required at my interview in abu dhabi last week. all other people were sent home as soon as the day began. one person said he had been invited and they sent him to HR department to get a copy of the letter and bring it back. needless to say he didnt come back. so be careful on how you approach the topic. they had a list with our names on them.

also experience means nothing really, i have 3 years cabin crew experience from here in australia, hairdresser with perfect grooming and appearance, management background and over 10 years customer service experience. and i still didnt make it. i have been twice now and this last time i got cut just before the final interview round. each day i have attended i have approached differently and still havent made it. i will be back in 6mnths time no doubt to try again.

basically persistence will win them over im sure lol lol

good luck if you decide to go but be very careful on how you say your invited, all the best

yes cherrie, exactly the same on the interview I attended: no invitation= no entry...

shame you did not make it, does not seem to make any sense at all.

figure out in which way you can improve yourself and try to reveal the secret of "what they are looking for"

chin up and better luck next time

Cherrie

It goes to show you just don't know what they're looking for, or if it has something to do with them favouring others that possible have less experience.

I applied & was invited to the Sydney assessment Nov 3 but was elimated just before the final one-on-one interview along with another girl who has training & currently working for an airline.

If anything, this makes me more determined to keep trying. I'm not sure about persistence winning them over, but let's wait & see??!!

Sunny: Have you heard about the others that were in your final group??

keep on waiting...

I'm due to start the training on the 9th and Lorraine called me this morning to confirm it, once again. She said my contract would be sent out 2day (we'll c, so far no contract), and that I'd get my ticket on the wednesday before departure. As I understand that is the normal procedure...

Hi Sylvestria

Hello there,

I am happy that you are also going on the 9th!!!

I know it's very hard to wait and I guess I'm a little bit lucky coz I can easily call them if I want to follow up something.

A piece of advise, send them an e-mail or better give them a call to check the 'status' of your contract or the plane ticket (do this when its around December 3 if you are set to arrive here on the 8th... If you still don't have a clue about your ticket..)

I'm excited to see you here in AUH
