Mytravel
If Mytravel is not going to be able to operate most of its flights because of its finalcial problems, Which airline will operate them? maybe Excel, TCX, Monarch?

Where do you get that information from?! LOL.
The only flights that will be subbed out is the STN and LBA flights this winter and for STN next summer.
MAN, LGW and all the other bases will continue to operate as usual.
MON operate are MLE in the summer anyway, and have for years.

Your right Jur99llk, MyTravel will not be operating the same number of flights next year. That's because the tour operator has cut back on capacity and therefore MYT don't need as many aircraft. Not sure where you get
from though.

Right:-
We have retired our 757's and the 767 also after Christmas.
Most of the B trained crew are also cross trained on A, so LOTS of crew are just simply transferring onto the A fleet, at MAN and the southern bases.
As we are short on 330 trained crew, this will satisfy the crew shortages on this fleet.
The redundancies have NOT been confirmed, the 90 day consulation period ends in November after CC89, BALPA and MYT have finished their talks.
The majority of redundancies will be made from STN (as it is closing down!) and the seasonal only bases.
You have also not taken into consideration the closure of a call centre in MAN, which will also take the brunt of job losses away from MyTravel Airways.

To hazzard a guess it will be last in first out. Saves on paying redundancy pay for one. also anyone on a temp/short term contract I guess will be on thier way as well. It has been well documented that MYT has been in trouble and will have to downsize, there were some talk of the airline ceasing to operate full stop but I don't think that will happen. I will keep my fingers crossed for a good outcome for you guys and girls though.

Hi LJ!
Yeah you are right,if redundancies have to happen it wll be LIFO.
Last in, f***k off!
LOL.
Natural wastage is a buzz word as always!
We will be ok, and will continue to be good and well respected airline (as Airtours/MyTravel will be as our tour operator)
Long Live MYT!
Thanks LJ

If Mytravel is not going to be able to operate most of its flights
Call me slow but if MYT reduce their capacity then the tour operator(s) have less holidays to sell / seats to fill.
If and when MYT's TO's have sold out of holidays then the bucket & spade brigade will book their holidays with alternative TO's as has been the case since before Airtours was ever dreamed of! Those TO's will place their business (seats) with whichever airline(s) they may decide and not necessarily UK operators.
Thus the answer to the original question is that MYT plan to be able to operate all 'their' flights, it just won't be so many flights as previous seasons! Something of a naive question really!

can i just say the b fleet is being taken out of operation (sort of) 1 757 and 2 767's are heading off too Skyservice in canada, the 757 will leave at end of oct then the 2 767's will head off after the hadj. The other 767 will be kept a gla next summer to do long haul. the dessert rats(the other 4 757) look like they might be heading off to Air Scandic we will see. the 767's are planned to do the hadj for the next three years. They are not leaving the company just being shifted around within. Yes this means some redundances but most flight deck are being trained up on the bus. Some cabin crew will be made redundant but not if the company can help it there are many options for the crew and CC89 are there looking after matters. The airline is still fighting fit and if the banks agree with the management over the debt for equity swap the airline will be in a great position.
