Medical Emergencies - (AGAIN!)

Hi All,

I know I ve posted this before but a gentle reminder to you all please...

If you call for medical assistance to meet your flight at the gate, either directly or via Medlink, etc. it will be an EMERGENCY AMBULANCE/AMBULANCE RESPONDER or AIRPORT FIRE SERVICE....

There has again been an alarming increase in meeting these flights with all the pax standing up, the "Oh we thought you 'd use the rear steps..." and even crew members on the door unaware of the incident at all(poor crm?) and the usual can we get the 1st class, etc. off? (I was even prevented from seeing a pax at all, last week when the crew member at the door refused us access to aircraft.... being dealt with but I wouldn't want the litigation if it goes t!ts up...)

PLEASE PLEASE ensure that the emergency services have immediate access to your passenger, usually via the jetty/airbridge. We will ensure that you can disembark the other pax ASAP, those of us based at the airports are fully aware of the £$ penalties and then need to turn aircraft around as quickly as possible and for you to get home too!

Also, allowing for the different phases of flight and limited cockpit/cabin comms now, please endevour to provide as much info about the patients condition as possible... often we get their name and seat number - even ethnic origin (!) but little or no info on their actual medical condition.

Again sorry to repost this but it is very frustrating! And apologies to those crews and companies that do there best to provide all the possible info and assistance.

PW

PS. If it's early in the morning a cup of tea is appreciated too!
