AD 28th May

Hi All!

My AD is on the 28th of May and to be honest nerves are really getting to me.

Does anyone have any advice or a guideline on how the AD is going to go? As well as questions they may ask in the individual interviews?

Thanks so much!

Hi! Yes it was the Melbourne base, were you there?

Unfortunately my AD was unsuccessful due to the fact that I'm studying part time online at university (she told me that to my face in the 1 on 1).

Unrelated, but I have nothing better to do so I'll give a full overview of the day for the benefit of anyone who chooses to peruse this forum haha, at least this was my experience for the day.

AD started at 8:30am, most of the interviewees gathered at about ~7:50-8am. Gives you plenty of time to mingle and have a chat, and everyone is so nice, so don't be afraid to! and NO PHONES, such an easy mistake to just check your phone quickly but please turn it off or leave it in your car.
Once you get invited into the room, you will be assigned a table at random, once again, mingle, offer everyone on the table water from the pitcher in the middle, it gives a good impression.
The recruiters will kick off with a brief introduction to the role, a short video, and also bringing up a seasoned cabin crew for a FAQ.
The first group activity is getting to know a partner on your table (learning their name, age, where they're from/live, past work experience, and a fun fact). Once you have spoken to your partner everyone will take turns one at a time giving a short presentation on what you know about your partner.
The second group activity is working with the whole table to sort 8 differently abled pax/customers into 9 seats, each with its own uniqueness (broken tray table, extra leg room, wheelchair friendly). The recruiters will be walking around taking notes etc.
After this, you will be sent back into the original area whilst they prepare for the 1 on 1s, for me, I waited an hour and ten minutes until my name was called.
In the 1 on 1, they will ask questions such as "tell me about your work history, has there been a time where you've had a disagreement with a customer, provide a time where you have gone above and beyond, what makes you choose cabin crew for virgin, are you on any medication, do you have any commitments which would interfere with travelling, do you have any tattoos or piercings, etc etc," basically just prepare for any question with a well worded answer.:

I also asked the recruiter in the 1 on 1 about how many they're looking to employ out of the two AD groups, and she said "There are 28 in the 8:30am group, and 32 in the 1:30pm group, virgin is prepared and happy to hire every person that has shown up today, as long as they have met the standards and requirements that we've asked of them" (basically verbatim but its been a week).

The AD finished at 11:30am for me, and I got home at 12:30pm on the dot, I refreshed the applicant portal and it had already updated to unsuccessful application (again, my bad, I took my uni studies off my resume immediately.

I know this would have been really helpful for me if I had come across a full fleshed out version of the day like this, so I hope this can help future wannabe cabin crews!

Hi ALL,

I would like to know what VA roster like (especially for ADL), I am currently working with JQ however finding it not much layover (all DOM returns). I would like to know if VA got more layovers however, I know VA don't have many routes from ADL in that case would they likely to send us to do trips like ADL-MEL-DPS or something like that (even to Japan)? Could someone please share what their roster like.
