No worries, Isabellah, you always get another (and another) chance.

Well, both of you are travelling very soon, so all the best! I hope you will be happy with the accomodation, your flatmate and you will have a great batch!

Good luck with your exams! If you study 3 hours a day, you should be just fine.

(Please, do NOT resign after your supy flights! - Supy flights might be shocking! - Give it some time. It's very hard work - forget about glamour! - but you will get used to it.)

Thank you so much.you are definately helping someone here.my friend is a current crew and why lie,i love her but she is a total b**tch! Was in utter shock when she got the job and didnt even know she could smile but she told me she smiled the whole day and she advised me to do the same even when i feel like sneering and/or frowning...and yeah it's so hard when you are told 'to be yourself'...i think the 'being yourself' should be 'be what ek wants and be natural at it' so it wont seem like you are just a page out of a book.so confusing though am hoping for the best and at the same time preparing for the worst...

Talking Mari and others

I do agree with what you said

However I didnt mean to just stay calm and let the others take control.
A little bit of everything is good. because you're right some people are born to be a leader blah blah

And to be frank if they like you(from how present yourself dress blah blah) , if you have a great CV, great photos May be good answers at your FI YOU ARE IN.and certainly your luck. Because your file will be reviewed by other seniors who you never met so you need to impress them with the mentioned above.

I just wanna share what I know and learn from what other people know and this is a great blog for us here

Hey! Yes my status changed about 4 days ago. Another girl from NZ had her status change yesterday. They may be fast tracking me though because I am available immediately? not sure though. I still however am waiting for the call! I even dream about the call haha - I can't wait until I get that letter telling me to resign.

I must say in all of our group activities they eliminated the dominant people, I don't know why! and a girl who said barely anything made it to FI. I honestly couldn't work out why they chose who they did.

Socks

Don't laugh - I'm currently trying to pack my life into two suitcases and I need to know - EK provides us guys with brown shoes, do they specify/provide the socks as well? My previous job required me to wear black socks as part of the uniform, I'm thinking if I should bring them if I'm allowed to wear black socks with the dark brown pinstripe and brown shoes?

Thanks vandehuang and Mari :)

vandehuang, I totally understand what you may have felt like; nevertheless, I wish you all the best in the future and I'm sure you'll get what you've always wanted I'll wait six months and try again, as I feel more confident than before Just so passionate about joining EK. The positive side is, so many people have made it in their second, third, or even fourth try!

Mari, thanks as usual for the insights into the age limit. When I recently flew from DXB to SFO, I hung around all the time with the CC and they all informed me that since you are a guy you should not hesitate in applying even if you're 33 -- that kinda raised my hopes up. And then this OD in SFO that I attended, this girl who was 31 was selected (sincerely happy for her). That also made me felt like although at 33, I still stand a chance. It's like when you want something so bad, you really don't want to accept the reality of the situation at times. I'm 33 and currently working for the Sheraton Hotel and still want to try... I hope and pray that I become the lucky few who make it in 15% cap. Thanks for continuing to relay such insightful and valid information to all of us here Good luck to everyone once again and continue sharing your precious experiences!

i was eliminated at the very last stage before the IQ test after the last group discussions of 6.

everyone among the six was good and in my group only 2 got an FI date and the other group only 1 girl got through, meaning on my date only 3 girls got to FI

although the preview day i was told by a friend that 8 girls got FI dates.

The first day attendance was around 70 girls no boys, and second day was also around 75 girls. It was a nice experince

are males invited for the AD in nairobi????

IQ Test

I'm getting confused.. the IQ test that gets mentioned here, is it different from the 16PF psych evaluation?

Yes it's different, the 16 PF tests your personality and the IQ, called the Raven's Progressive Metrices is a non-verbal IQ and abstract reasoning test. I had to do the IQ test after my FI. The personality test is on the day of selection, i.e AD, the RO's use your personality test to decide what questions to ask during the interview.

I asked the RO's what the test (IQ) is for and they said the candidates who get selected to do it is randomly chosen. But I have read somewhere that it's for those who gave mixed answers with the personality test. Don't think that's true cause your personality and IQ is not related, or maybe it is?

Hope this helps to provide some clarity.

ps you can google Raven's Progressive to see a example of the IQ test.

Thanks, Mari!

I've just arrived in Dubai after a really funny flight. Crew was awesome and made the 15 hours flight feel much shorter!

Nice regards to everybody!

Wink Luxembourg OD 17th June, 2010

Hi everyone ..

I went to the Luxembourg OD, my 4th OD in the last year, and again unfortunately i was rejected.

I am a relatively pretty Indian girl, with a lot of hospitality experience, including care worker and restaurant and call center experience, a Psychology degree, and weight proportionate to height. I don't know where i go wrong because i have an impressive CV and speak 5 languages (European and Indian) fluently. I wear a tailored business dress to the OD/AD with my hair neatly done up and have photos taken recently at a studio, where i look professional.

When it comes to personality, i generally tend to always make friends at the OD as i am quite smiley and interactive, and during group discussion i made sure i contributed but NEVER interrupted anyone else..

Where am i going wrong?! I got the furthest at Luxembourg, getting to the English test phase and i am certain that the test went great .. so i am not sure why i have been rejected?

Any help will be appreciated

Status

I've just applied through the web site for every cabin crew posting I was eligible for and was sent the automatic invite to an Open Day but was wondering if I'll still be considered for the Global Assessment Day. My status says Under Review but I think it doesn't mean anything. I wish I could know if someone is actually looking at my info. Does anyone know how long after applying they would take before inviting you to a Global Assesment Day? It's only about a month before they're having one in my area.
