Hi there guys...just arrived here in Doha yesterday, I'm suffering from jet lag. So far, everything is well, my flatmates are so awesome, they made me feel welcomed. Hmmm, it's quite humid by day, but it's much cooler by night. The accommodation is really nice, hmmm, what else, all in all, it's good.

Hi there! Feels great to have read about your threads and it really helps me to gain a little confidence cause I'm starting to lose hope on myself. You really sound very optimistic and that helps a lot. Thank you. Well, but they say.. "No guts, no glory!"
Anyways, I'm 27 yrs. old located here in the Philippines and a single mom. No work for now and friends keep telling me to try applying as a flight attendant since they know that it's really my dream to become one. I've searched over the internet these past few days and saw an opening day for Qatar Airways as a Cabin Crew. It will be held on the 14th of this month at one of the hotels here. I'm really nervous cause I really don't know what to do and what to expect. I hope you can help me on some pointers as to what to wear, what kind of do, make up and shoes to wear.
Let me tell you on some infos about myself so you can freely assess me whether I can make it or not.. more or less.. Cause I think you have at least the clue on what are the qualifications they are looking for since you've made it there. I do accept criticisms.. don't worry. I'm really worried on how I look cause I've heard that they only accept applicants who are more or less have the face of a potential Hollywood actor. I mean, you have to look beautiful and all.
Here:
- height: 5'6"
- weight: 150 lbs. (which I think I'm a little overweight but trying to work out now)
- fair skinned
- I've reached 3rd yr. college
- I can speak and understand Chinese very well; especially Fookien and a little of Mandarin.
- I do have a 4-month working experience in an American-based call center (dunno if it helps)
Hope you can give me some advice of what to do.. Thanks a lot!

Open Day - Johannesburg
Hi Ladies & Gents
Anyone going to the Open day in Johannesburg, South Africa?
To the crew already with Qatar Airways, any ideas as to what happens once the interviewer's recommendations get back to headquaters? What do the recruiters back at the office look for and/or assess on the applications or do they just assess the interviewer's notes.
I know i will make it through the interview my worry is once it gets back to HQ. Oh, is qatar taking on guys at the moment. I understand that they usually employ only 1 guy from each open day so to keep to their 1:4 ratio.
Look forward to receiving your replies.

In fact i live 2 streets away from the convention centre. The OD's are hectic, but what is even more so is the wait for that call back. But when you finally get that call all you can think of is ............... nothing but I'm in.
If you want I prefer direct mails email me cs @ creighdon.co.za

help
Hy,
I'm new here and I have a question... for ODs you have to apply on their site or you can go over there (I know that for ADs you have to apply but, if it is called "Open Day" I guess you don't have to.)
I'll really appreciate if someone could help me with an answer.
Good luck for all of you!

Hello girls,
i've been tried for 4 times for qatar airways. but i didn't get the call. last time when i attend OD in Milan, the recuiter asked me how tall i am. and i said 158 cm..actually i am 160cm..after i didn't get the call. she was so kind to me. i have no idea why. i think i should stop attending OD..also because it's cost. congrates to all of you who've made it..

I don't think that the english test was so difficult..

Brazil OD
Hey, guys!
There´s going to happen an OD here in Brazil on 28th of November. I´ve already applied on QR website and even got a confirmation back. I want too much get the job and fly for QR however I am afraid that I cannot get used to living under such a strict environment besides I´ve been reading other threads and then heard of some tough co-workers. How´s everything in QR? Is it really worthy being far from my family?
Thanks in advance! lol
