New GA facility EGCC

Just a couple of rumours and if anybody has any news......... a friend suggested to me that a new GA handling facilty is to be set up at MAN. I wondered if anybody else had heard similar. I know NEA are there but am told they don't cover 24/7 and can sometimes be expensive. I have not visited MAN for some years but may need to soon with some important clients so any pointers would be very helpful. I operate a citation 550 and Falcon 20 aircraft both would be needed if I get the bizness. Not sure if I am posting to correct forum but thanxs anyway.

Mr Potatohead

I understand that 2 new GA handling agents are to commence operations on 1st May.

Manchester Handling and Lloyd Aviation, are I believe the names in question.

Hope this might help a little.

Regards

Scottie Dog, thanxs for the reply.I'm actually operating on the 28th of this month for the football finals in Manchester. I cannot find any references to either company on the web, and I contacted the airport telephone exchange, they couldn't help, so it seams like I'll use NEA. I do remember Manchester Handling from some years back but as I said they don't seem to be around anymore. Thanxs again for your reply.

NEA may be a little bit pricey but the service is good and the facility very nice. Not sure on the H24 thing though, as far as I am aware they are.

Mr P., May 28th will be a VERY busy day as you may have read on the R&N page, it has been suggested
up to 200 additional airliner charters are expected, and a guesstimate of 60 biz aircraft. All pure speculation,
until the two UEFA finalists are known.

In order to move the supporters after the match, priority is being given to airliner departures, so
you just may have to wait awhile for a departure slot.

It isn't the Manchester Airport fees, but the additional 'handling' charges that are the killer.

I see from your latest posting that you are coming up for the May 28th match. Your first message
wasn't too specific. I was about to suggest that if your business was out in the region, as opposed
to the city, then try Liverpool Aviation Services (www.liverpoolhandling.co.uk) over at LPL/EGGP
where there are no slot restrictions. Might still be worth considering, as the motorway journey time
to Manchester by limo is usually around 40 minutes.

I have a little infomation about this new GA handler.

Firstly they do not posess there own GAT so all transfers will be through the terminal.
As all passengers are going through the terminal it is my understanding that all baggage will be screened and have to go through the system.
When the passengers come the the airport they will be taken in full public glare throught the terminal in front of all the other public so no privicy. Unlike NEA who have there own private GA facility where your passengers have to walk a max of 20 metres.
All aircraft that are handled will have to park on remote bussing stands so a nice mini-bus drive for your V.I.P pax.
If there is a delay with the new handling agent your pax have a few choices 1) Sit in an airport lounge and wait
2) Sit on the Aircraft and wait
Where as in NEA your pax can sit in an airconditioned lounge with leather chairs in maximum comfat with free coffee and bics.
So even if NEA is a little more expensive then i think it is worth it. AS for 24h opening all i can say is that I haev heard if u arrange it with the guys they will try there best to fit u in and as ther is only 5 of them it is not always easy. As for my personal experiance all the staff are polite proffesional and do a dam fine job.
I would reccomend NEA to anyone there is nothing they wont try and help you with and they have been going for 40 years so they must be doing somthing right.

Mr P - Just like to echo Rockwell's reply.
If you are only coming for the Champions' League final I think you may be better using Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
It sounds like it will be fun & games at MAN on the 28th !

I have heard from NEA that GA will not be a problem as long as it is booked in advance. So I think Manchester is the best option but book in advance.

All, thanxs for info. LPL is a good option but the customer wants to go to MAN. I contacted lloydexec and they were very helpful. No problems with terminals, so no worries there. To be honest I quite like wandering around the terminals if I'm on a stop. Plenty of shops, food outlets etc.

Again thanxs for info.
