How to become an aerial firefighter?

Hi all,

There doesn't seem to be much advice on how to get into this particular line of work. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have been told it's taildragger - observer - firefighter and you need to gain mountain ops experience and turbine experience. I already have an EASA ATPL with thousands of useless hours watching the autopilot do it's thing at FL410.

I know this would be an unusual direction but bear with me!
