Manston airport (EGMH)
Does anyone know if there is any truth in the airport being re-opened to operate military cargo / aid flights to the Ukraine? There is a lot of talk of it in the local community and apparently permission has been given. However, I am struggling to find anything official and having been shut for 8 years, it seems like a huge project to do in a hurry. Thanks!

The runway is intact. The basic tower is there. No ground equipment, lights or radar but I guess it can act as an unlicensed airfield if it was needed. A small on site company can provide some fire cover. Despite being closed, two based helicopter companies use it with a basic radio service in use.
