Commuting from UK to Nice, France
Just asking a question for a French mate, currently flying a bizjet from Nice who is considering relocating to the UK due to the policies of the current French government.
I don't want to get into a debate about the merits of why live in UK when you can live on the Cote d'Azur - he wants to move to the UK. But where is a good place to start looking?
Can anybody suggest reasonable villages within an hour car-commute from Luton/Stanstead or any other airport with good links to Nice?

I fly this route quite often, and agree to avoid LTN and STN, particularly the latter, as both are horrendous.
There are more flights from LGW and a choice of 3 carriers, easyJet, BA, and Norwegian, although the last may pull out in the winter season, but you would not be dependent on only one airline.
There are some very pleasant places within easy distance of LGW, for example Horsham, Dorking, Reigate, or coastal town such as Brighton and Lewes.
