Taiz airport OYTZ
Hi All,
We are going to Taiz international in Yemen very soon.
I would appreciate any info from someone with operational experience at Taiz.

been there got T shirt
before I go into great detail, did we chat recently, outside a Dubai Hotel.
In general get a copy of the Yemin AIP, it shows the airport in great detail, it is not in the Jep data base, but is on the airports list, so an FMS will recognise, and the Semi PX system is not needed.
The Terain Database might or might not have the airport data.
The airport RT frequency as listed WAS wrong, but SANNA the area control will give correct freq.
Tower controller very good, self brief your approach, and MISS. review the AIP, and draw out your planned procedure, insert into FMS is applicable. Remember VFR.
Totally VFR, with lots of lumps in the vacinity.
TS most of the year in the afternoons.
Very efficient ground taff, parking on main apron, close to terminal buliding.
Take round trip fuel if at all possible, CASH only if refuel required, and IF available.
Outbound customs OK, and inbound should be OK too.
Do not plan to go tech, or night stop.
Most western consulates suggest DO NOT VISIT.
Did I mention VFR.
have fun, it is a great view, with high rates of descent, to distract you...
