EDTO/ETOPS for Private Ops
Hi all,
Bit of discussion on other threads regarding the approval for 330 mins EDTO/ETOPS for GE powered 777s.
Just wondering how private operators of long range jets (G550, GLEX etc) manage EDTO type flights. I understand that there may not be any legal obligation to remain within any prescribed diversion time to an alternate, but do private operators do this anyway?
ie. on say an AKL-LAX would you just go great circle or would you make some effort to stay near(ish) to an alternate?
Cheers,
blah

in our company we use to run commercial and private.
We are planning all the private "as commercial" in regards of ETOPS/EROPS operations.
So, if we have a GLEX from AKL-LAX we just run the flight plan in order to be cover 180 mins and all aerea above 120mins are Etops area.
