VRMM-UNOO, need help

Dear all,

could anyone recommend a place for a fuel stop with a Sovereign from Male to Omsk?

Any help or experience is highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Yours

Dushanbe (UTDD) worked relatively good for us 2 years ago. (time is running...)

They have a nice VIP temrinal with good food where you could put your pax during fueling. (but thats at a cost!)

Would give you 2077nm/1002nm overhead/overhead and quite a few alternates within 250nm.

Sounds good, thanks a lot! Do you have any experience with stops in India, New Delhi e.g.?

Muscat

I would go to Muscat, OOMS.

Beats the heartache of dealing with India. Adds 200nm but worth it in the end.

Almaty might be another option but could be outside your range.

Jungle Drums,

Couldn't agree more. Sound advice. Is about 2000nm from Muscat to Omsk. Far easier to grab gas in Muscat then ANYWHERE in India.

Anything but india is good, Muscat is efficient, weather in dushanbe can be problematic at this time of the year, Shimkent (UAII) were ok last time but 2300 Nm might be too much for your plane ?
But just forget about the indian continent...

I have good experience with both Muscat and Abu Dhabi. India works IF you have the right contacts. If not, stay away from a "short" stop for fuel anywhere in India.

hawker750, when was the last time you were in Karachi?

Nav Aids U/S, crap radar vectoring.....potentially a bit unstable politically.
I go there now semi-regularly in the 777, and its considered that much of a challenge, my company use it as a check/training flight.
AVOID OPKC...period

At first, I was thinking, just stop in Mumbai (last tech stop there was an hour and a half in the middle of the night). Going to Muscat is the way better choice though. You don't have to deal with India, risk getting bad altitudes over Pakistan, deal with Afganistan (not sure what the overflight is like nowadays), or possibly even deal with China. Muscat will have cheap fuel, quicker tech stop, and an easy overflight of Iran.....
