Expat Banking
I am interested in information about individuals that are US citizens that live and work in Germany. What is the best way to bank? Any concerns with the conversion rates or tax implications. Generally the best way to protect your assets. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks

What exactly is your question? I am assuming that you are not asking where to get money - there are ATMs virtually everywhere...
Are you being paid here in Germany or in the US?
In $$$ or €€€ ?
Are you residing here in Germany (be careful - tax issue!)?
Generally speaking, it is no rocket science to go into any bank here (ask colleagues which local branch they find recommendable) and open an account with a card with which you can withdraw funds and pay when shopping.
Try to shop around and look for the cheapest rates for money transfers to/from USD-countries. There are internet based banks as well. Maybe the way to go and cheaper than the others.
PM me, if you have more questions. Good luck!

tax implications?
I am not there yet. I am just trying to understand the best way to handle it if and when I do end up over there. What are the tax implications if you are residing there?
Thanks for the info!!
