TRI approved course?
Hello,
Does anybody know a TRTO that can provide support for the TRI qualification on business Jets?
All courses that I can find are for airline types!
Anybody good good pointers?
Many thanks!

Core course is only for UK license holders as far as I know. This is one of many reasons why the UK CAA will not approve just any non-UK TRI course, JAA approved or not. I have looked in to this in detail and it's a big mess....
With a UK license you need the core course (about 3000 GBP) and then you can attend a TRI course (around 10 - 12 000 GBP + VAT). You can, with some restrictions, get a "foreign" JAA TRI course approved by the CAA, as long as the syllabus fullfills UK CAA requirements. However, the final check needs to be conducted by a UK licensed TRIE. In most other EU countries a "check" as such is not even required, you just need a supervised sim session. TRIEs are available from the CAA, if you don't happen to know one, but I was told that you need to "book" one at least 4-6 months ahead. The cost for the check is something like 1000 GBP + simulator costs.
Total cost: About 16.000 GBP perhaps?
These numbers are for getting a Airbus 320 TRI ticket in the UK.
Do the same in most other places in Europe, outside UK, and you will end up spending between 4-6000 Euro.![Bad teeth](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/badteeth.gif)

TRI training
As you must already know, according to JAR-FCL, TRI training is divided in 2 parts.
Part 1: Teaching and Learning (maybe = with UK Core Course?)
and
Part 2: Technical Training (type relevant)
At the end, you do need to do at least 3 hrs of demostration as a TRI-trainee in direct supervision of authority nominated / accepted TRI. This has to be done in conjuction with an actual type rating course.
Now, I know that many local authorities have given different kind of "waivers" in reference how to run this, but it should be done with actual students on actual TR course.
I know that FSI has courses for Falcons in Paris, but for example for Bombardier fleet, there is no JAA approved TRI course available with BATC nor FSI. I know some operators do have their own TRTO approval and they do have TRI training for their own staff, but it is usually not sold out.
It is all up to the local authority and you can use FCL 1.045 as a backup trying to pursue them to give you or your organisation a training permit.
Then again, with some countries it seems to be lot easier...
