Gulfstream GX
A little birdy told me that Gulfstream is going to skip over the whole G6, G600 and call it the G7 or Gulfstream G7000 for its 7000nm range. Hehehe! This is done because the number "6" is bad luck in most cultures.

In FSI SAV last week
and everybody just smiled when the subject of a sidestick fly by wire Gulfstream was raised. But then if we all called it a 600 series then they could say "I know nothing".
But there is now enought production space for the new model.
The next phase will be the GlfSSt. after the 7000.
keep blue side up, and brown side down.

Just to feed a bit the rumors. I have been to Savannah in May and had a chance to talk to a sales guy and he told me that the "new" Gulfstream is ready to lunch but since the 550 is a "self - selling" product, they want to wait till 08. And as far I remember he told me, that the cabin will be about 30% bigger and the windows too!!!!!
MMO I guess was above .9 and and MTOW above 100.000 lbs. ![Big Grin](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies2/eusa_clap.gif)

I doubt it will be above 100000lbs. Opens up ETOPS issues. Looking forward to the details though. It has got to be a larger cabin- to address competitors, but as long as it performs like a 550, it doesn't need much more.
Don't want it too big or the Teterboro VOR 1A arrival starts to get even more 'fun'!

I know some high up people in Gulstream, and they are planning a G6 (or whatever they are going to name it) designed to blow the GLEX out of the water. Cabin 1 or two foot wider than GLEX, certified up to 19 pax, Cape Town - New York range. Engines that will be aircraft specific.
Cant wait to see it!

...which means that, without any shadow of a doubt, Bombardiers lads are already working on the Global XRS GTI XYZ, mag-wheels and chrome bumpers, which will in turn blow the planned Gulfstream(insert number) out of the wet element!
And my owner WILL want one! Viva capitalism!

Lifted post from another site
From: hangar Flyer: The author is a SAV based person:
GLF6 (Gulftest Six) is the individual callsign of a Savannah based Gulfstream test pilot.
GLFX is any experimental Gulfstream.
Gulfstream generally has at least three test articles at any given time involved in activities such as flight control development, avionics development or work on synthetic vision with a blended display.
There is good reason Gulfstream would not want to announce a possible eight and one half foot wide, Mach 0.90 successor to the G550 with a 7,250 nm range.
Georges Santayana said, "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
At NBAA 2000 Gulfstream let slip that a modernized GIV-SP, dubbed the GIV-X was in the works. This adversely affected current G-IV sales, so the Big G introduced an interim diversionary model termed the G400 by the company, which was simply a GIV-SP that was factory equipped with most popular options, including satcom, HUD and EVS.
This took the pressure off of sales and allowed Gulfstream to continue with the planned introduction of the G450 (the actual GIV-X) on October 7, 2003.
Gulfstream learned their lesson and doesn't want to repeat history by hurting current G500/G550 sales by prematurely announcing a new aircraft.
Hope this clears the air over SAV for a few weeks.... glf
