For some reason the tail doesn't seem to go with the aircraft....American...late 20's?

First thing I noteced mate, poor little sod!! I had considered doing just that, but not with MS Paint you made a good job of it though

American...late 20's?
Too early and wrong continent!

To help interpret the tail's silhouette; what appears to be a fillet to the fin, is in fact the tail's horizontal surface behind the fin, also, there may just be a small radius to the top rear corner of the rudder, but on my image it was almost exactly the colour/texture of the background. LM probably had a better view of the real shape, but I don't think it's too relevant as there aren't many other pictures around, but this one is on the web!

Good - I think! Thanks for the comments on the tail....that would explain it.

To clarify things, the shape of the fin/rudder is accurate.

Not hear mate! Found several look-a-likes but nothing that matches. Now going through France (put that one off as long as I could!).

No, I've got something that sounds like its out of Doctor Who or Star Trek - an Android phone!
Seriously though, that's a good move!
Good - now I wish I hadn't bothered with Germany/Russia/UK etc first! Unfortunately I fear I am going to hand it over to someone else as have to catch up on some work very soon.

Time for a little clue!

If I were to give you the year, you would find it immediately!

Probably so for the manufacturer, but I can't give you that for a very good reason!

Maybe its a microlight?

It certainly looks odd with that tiny engine stuck out the front, assuming that's what it is?

The front reminds me of a free flight model called a Simplex.

I don't think that they had thought of that word in those far off days, but as it had an empty weight under 200Kg, it would fall well within the 300Kg Max for a microlight if it were built today.

That is a little motor you see, a 20CV flat twin.

Happy hunting!

Hi SincoTC, Do you mean a 2CV engine, as used in the Citroen 2CV?

Well, I'm going to make an educated guess which is an aircraft I went straight past because its described as a parasol monoplane....is it the Leyat-Jacquemin 1934? I can't find a picture anywhere but it fits the make/year clue as well as the under 200 kgs. Unfortunately it doesn't match in terms of the engine so I am probably barking up the wrong tree!

Mechta,

If you check what I said, you'll find that I didn't say 2CV did I, but the CV means the same in French!

skytrain,

I hear doggy noises I'm afraid, but half of your answer is correct, so you should find it quickly now! (And save me the effort of compiling a cribsheet for LM, as I have to go at seven tonight)!

BTW, I was monitoring this thread on another computer (not logged-in) and got "Server too busy notice" when I tried to refresh it, so I expect there's a lot or traffic and speculation about the "Quaintarse 380" incident. Should be OK for logged on members, but will no doubt slow to a crawl!

Ah, a motor glider - must admit I didn't consider that option!

It must be the Botali-du Riveau PAMA type 1

If correct it will have to be Open House as its dinner time!

Bang on mate the Botali-du Riveau PAMA type 1 it is!

As per my clue #16758:

Top of the list for that Year on Aviafrance. Also, if you select the Blank line below the dashed "All Manufacturers" in the dropdown list, the PAMA is the only result returned, because there's no manufacturer name in the database for it and the reason why I couldn't give it!

Edited to say that I see that skytrain has requested an Open House

Got anything ready Mechta?
