I'm assuming it was a project and never flew.

However, one should never assume.

Well, WK said when he mailed it to me that he thought it might be up for some time.

Ahhh.... I see a WK green light.

Bruno Nagler after WW2 worked in USA and was born in Austria, but he is not involved in this design.
Yes, this heli was from Europe, it did fly and appeared around 1962.
It is known under two names. An unusual feature was that it had a 3-bladed upper and 2-bladed lower rotor.

Bring on the Stig. (Monday?)

G'day Walter!

I've been trying to source your pic. Observer's to my knowledge never did silhouettes of choppers and Jane's were usually line drawings...

around 1962.
Ta. Looking at Jane's now...

What happened to our unofficial 24 hour rule?

Now I'm more intrigued by that than finding the challenge. One advantage with co-axial rotors is the unloading of the retreating blade. I really must find out why this had differing numbers of blades, but I won't get anywhere until I see my helicopter man tomorrow.

Pardon? Twenty-four hour rule?
around 1962.
No joy with the 62' and 63' editions...

It was suggested early last year that 24 hours is long enough, that's all.

Observer's to my knowledge never did silhouettes of choppers and Jane's were usually line drawings...
That's how Walters' challenge came to me - I'm responsible for the invert.

You're right. Britain is another, ugly one called the Grasshopper.

Flight International for 7 June 1962 mentions.......Flight trials have been conducted for the last 18 months...... so it could have flown in 1959/1960 already.
Not much can be found on Google, except name of designer who apparently had connections (chief pilot?) with the wartime Junkers company.
Engine was a 72-90hp rotary (Wankel) and it was a two-seater.

No luck with the 59' edition, but I guess that doesn't mean much. I might have a look at some "Flying Review" magazines of the period later, but I'm running out of ideas and since it's not displayed (?) on the internet, I'm not too proud to say this one is beyond me.

I'll be back if I find something, otherwise adiós amigos.
