Is it an Early Globe Swift. The one in the 1942 Janes has no dihedral on the tailplane but later photos do.

Not a Globe Swift, nor a Jupiter.

I was thinking Temco, something between the Swift and Buckaroo? The Globe Swift was virtually the same plane so does that also rule out Temco?

Not Temco, Culver (from which the Jupiter was developed) or Brewster.

Question, were there examples of this flying in 1956?

HD, I believe there would have been 1 example flying in 1956. Please do not take this as 100% confirmation but from what information I have the answer is yes.

It's a Piper Cub! (sorta, kinda, re-arranged, like)

, Actually, it looks an awful lot like the Piper PT-1 Primary Trainer, designed in 1943, powered by a 130 hp Franklin...

If so, open house

Very nicely done mate! That thing was starting to burn my retinas! Welcome James!

Nice Challenge Ken! You're getting very good with the paintbrush whereas I tend to go outside the lines. Another problem I find is if the image is small to work with, lines (from point A to B) look like a staircase. I haven't worked out how to prevent that yet. How did you remove the text so nicely? That's another thing I haven't worked out yet.

Spot on Jamesel, it is the Piper PT-1 trainer of 1943. 1 aircraft built, which is still in existance today.

HD, I found this link which shows that the aircraft crashed in 1954 and was certainly not flying in 1956. My apologies as I misled you based on other information I had.
Museum Projects

Noyade, see pm

Jamesel .has declared Open House.

ps...welcome to the forum jamesel,
