Well, I looked at Gottlob Espenlaub for a long time today, and could only come up with the Raketanflugzeug, where the wing looks correct but the "car" beneath is totally different to the challenge.

WTF ?

Good one Bradenav! I couldn't find the one pictured, but every other lead dried up

Staying on the tailless theme, how about this:

Thanks LM, you beat me to it on the editing!

I should add that it wasn't built. Unusually for the country of origin, the airframe manufacturer proposed to use their own engine.

It flew in 1930 .Espenlaub was helped by Soldenhoff.

Here ,for comparison , the rocket E 15 :

Ha! No idea what you were on about...and then it 'hit' me.

To quote Dundee, "That's not a hoodie, this is a hoodie.."

Hi mate. I don't know where you guys find all these projects but I do do know I'm outta my depth.

But it looks like Avro and Northrop got together. Armstrong Whitworth project maybe?

I'd say the nose section looks very Avro. Not sure about thre rest. Clearly no UK/US because of the engine reference which would make it a more obscure one (no offence to whichever country). Therefore, Skytrain10, GAL may be correct. RR

Well, I've been through the whole list of GAL numbers to no avail.

Now working on Operational Requirements (OR) numbers. OR229 looked promising, but no.

What's intriguing me are the contra-rotating turboprops!

Evidently my comment about the engines was misleading, so you had better ignore that.

One of you was there but didn't know it, I would like more than just the name of the manufacturer, i.e. aircraft name/number.

Mechta,

Your comments about the engines is not misleading.

I've been working on the Proteus, which led me to Bristol.
