Struggling on this!!....so the Australian designer had an aircraft named after him which was built by Airspeed. I'm guessing its not an Airspeed aircraft per se, but one that was built at their facility, maybe at Portsmouth or Christchurch?
As for the challenge aircraft, I'm guessing that in light of the above its British? Makes me think of a powered glider conversion, tactical troop transport or the like...maybe something by General Aircraft?

I seem to remember Nevil ****e mentions this in hig autobiography, and mentions there was some friction over workmanship.

The Lasco Lasconder looks like it has the right parentage & designer, but not enough wheels, tailbooms or engines. The all terrain undercarriage of the aircraft to be identified, could also have been useful in Australia.
In its heyday LASCO had over 100 employees. In 1925 it produced an Avro 405K and from its Coode Island factory, established in 1927, emerged the Lascoter (1929), probably the first Australian all-metal aircraft, and the three-engined Lasconder (1933), both designed by W. S. Shackleton.

With C.L Lee Murray designed the challenge, a project for a 30 seat commercial monoplane, with the wing having some similarities with the Inflexible and the novel landing gear possibly a reaction to the huge wheel of the Inflexible, which is the sole surviving part of that design.

Subsequently the ultra light Shackleton-Murray SM.1 was built to their designs by Airspeed.
WSS then gave up design and founded an aircraft sales business which became the premier such in the UK and lasted to at least the 1960s
You have control Skytrain 10 , on the grounds that the challenge had no designation other then "30 seat commercial monoplane",but it was a great joint effort. Cheers Doug

Wow, an excellent challenge, however it was as you say a joint effort, and I only got as far as I did with your help! I can't say that I feel I won the challenge, so Open House guys.
