Hi Noyade....that was quick, yes it is the Junqua Ibis RJ03, a French homebuild aircraft along the lines of the Rutan LongEz. The wings are made of plywood and styrene foam!

Here she is in colour:

All yours Graeme....

Thanks skytrain but it was a lucky find. Gathered it was a homebuilt but I was debating whether to start looking from the 70's or work backwards from the 21st century. Luckily I picked the latter!

I tried to 'colour' in between the lines but had a bit of trouble with the top cockpit frame...

It's a ringer for the Bede but isn't because of the tailplane position.

Can't see a prop though - looks more like a minijet.

Not that I'm aware of Richard.

I've no idea!!!!!
G'day RR! Remember your Aussie homebuilt helicopter that was in Air Pictorial? This is a similar situation although it is mentioned in Aerofiles. Full story in Air International September 1977 pages 141-142.

Gotta go to work. Bye.

Air International
Sure is Ken! Did you keep all your issues? In my opinion the best aviation magazine around, until Green and Swanborough left.

skytrain10 has control.

Possibly inappropriate I suppose, but LM's 'Star-Lightning' Christmas challenge reminded me of this image from an issue (1994) of Aeroplane Monthly for a book prize. You were meant to identify (Ki-61, B-26, Fw-190, etc) thirteen aircraft from WW2. I only ever managed to find eleven. Very interested to see if you guys can find the other two. I never did.

Hi Graeme....I never used to get Air International, but once you said it was an RX2 engine it did not take long to find it on the net. Besides which as an RX7 owner I have always been interested in aircraft that have adopted Felix Wankel's creation....it seems to be more popular in aircraft than in cars nowadays!

Nice puzzle....I'll take a look and see if I can find them.

Will have something for you shortly guys.

Anti-clockwise rotor. Probably not European.

American ones usually rotate anti-clockwise......

LM...a bit early for any clues but to eliminate one major producer, don't bother with the US.
