Hello Tu.144, and welcome to the thread.

You are so close I have to give it to you.

My reference has it as, indeed, the Republic XF12 Rainbow.

You have control of the thread.

"My reference has it as, indeed, the Republic XF12 Rainbow."
I think Tu-114 is on the money with the RC-2 mate. If you look closely, the silhouette sports an airliner like cockpit devoid of the ventral nose glass as seen on the XF-12. Artists version of the RC-2 nose below. Trivial point, but I'm a trivial man.

If it has anything to with the verification page I understand your problem. Some like this, I find quite difficult...

I have to keep refreshing the image until something like this appears...

"Didn't last long."
Mate, I don't know if you noticed, but the answer is printed twice on your challenge image...?

Changed the image when I put the photos on.
Sinco had this to look at:

Looks quite confusing now. Should I change it back?

No no no. Picture a dumb man from Oz just waking up and seeing that image. Sinco types "If correct" and then you typed "Didn't last long", it didn't make sense. I was sure there had to be a logical explanation. My apologies to Sinco and yourself, I meant no offence, just making an observation from the bottom of the world.

Cheers
Graeme.

This one is not a Hawker design, I am afraid.

New Challenge

Thanks Tu-114. At first glance I thought it was this aircraft project...

They are very similar indeed. Judging from the landing gear, this challenge plane is not of Eastern provenience. Something that stemmed from the US GEneral BOmber specification that finally resulted in the B-58?

This was a long-range interceptor project stressed for 7.3G and an operating altitude of 60,000ft which ultimately led it to become "unnecessarily large and overweight."

Would that be the NORTHROP N-144 by chance.

Morning/Evening to you Mel. Yes indeed. Another contender for the long range interceptor requirement was the North American F-108 but in the end the F-101 won the day.

It had an exceptionally thin fuselage cross section...
