Got it in one Noyade.
Well done, it is the MAI Kvant, two of which were built in the 60's by students at the Moscow Aviation Institute. It does hold a couple of world records, but I don't have details....?
Here she is in the flesh, so to speak:

Ah, something without a man (or woman) in it!? Not my area...... RR
Looks like something dangerous from Werner von Braun again...

In fact I'm now pretty sure it is the DG-1. Seems there were some design changes...I had a photo with a more streamlined fuselage and 2 ventral fins, but have now found one which more closely resembles the 3-view with just a single fin.

Looks not unlike the Aero-Design DG-1, albeit that there are a number of differences, but I would suggest it is something from the same designer.

Thanks Noyade...here's the photo I had found from a 1981 publication:
![](http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/ii457/kendyer/Silhouette%20Challenge/DG-01.jpg)
Appears to have 2 smaller ventral fins, plus the airscoop underneath the fuselage.
My offering to follow shortly.

Thanks for sending over a picture of Aero DG1 Graeme and Skytrain: not even Aerofiles had one. This is going to supplement beautifully my list of push/pull aircrafts!
