Because of its age I can only confirm it is of USSR origin. It is post 1922 and pre 1991!

To help you along, 1920's.

The one other aircraft I have found from this designer was to be powered, but only ever flew as a glider.

Looking at the "Currently Active Users" list, it looks like I'm on my own.

Just to help you along, the designer was also involved in rocket design.

Neither of those, but you are on the right lines. The aircraft that I previously referred to was to have been partly rocket powered.

Then it has to be Cheranovsky. The guy whose rocket fighter was tested by dropping it unpowered from a bomber, but never flew powered.

But cannot check, because have to go down town with Missus. Now!

Mate, it your solitude needs some consolation: at least we had today the second-highest 24-hour viewer attendance in two weeks.

See you later. I guess.

Rdit: OK, not Cheranovsky. Ho Hum.

Buttrick, well done, yes it is the AVF-1 Aral from 1923 designed by Tikhonravov. The eagle eyed will have noticed that the Tikhonravov 302 (the aforementioned rocket/ram jet powered aircraft that only ever flew as a glider) was a previous challenge on SC.

Buttrick has declared Open House

Limited monitoring, so a straightforward one with the right words....

Those words being "stowed rotor" !

It's the Lockheed CL-945-2 (Prop Version)

Home for only a short break, back to work after having something to eat and will be too busy to monitor so Open House please if correct, sorry !!
