Dresden it is, around 1956, during the construction of a new terminal.

Thanks Moira!, It is still visible on Google Earth, only a IL 14 is now at the other side of the building.

Now an easy one:

Thank you,dash7fan.

The airfield is longer operational and was once associated with a famous aviatrix.

OK, I'll bite on the clue....Lae, Papua New Guinea?

It's a wild guess, really.

And not much like what looks like a disused airfield in the centre of the town!

Not Lae,old, not bold, and not Miss. Amelia Earhart.
The lady in question was number eleven in the world ranking of lady aviators.

There was a small airport close to downtown in Jakarta, long since closed and the name of which I cannot remember.

Would this airfield be in Indonesia, by chance??

Sorry, twochai, not the airfield you allude to. It's postion is west of the Greenwich Meridian and north of Latitude 15 Degrees North.
It was once home to a number of NB2 Islanders.

No,Speedpig,it is not Belize.
There is a modern airport located to the east, and the subject airfield is still partially visible on google, hangers and runway markings for the western end of the runway etc. It would appear that Miss. Amelia Earhart and her navigator, Mr. Fred Noonan, night stopped here with the aviatrix mentioned in the earlier posts, whilst they were on their ill fated flight in 1937.
