Pilot Schol. Axed?

Firstly I want to apologise for the 'wannabe' post on this forum, however I do have a question I need answering.

I recently heard that the Pilot Scholarship scheme has been stopped due to lack of funds. Is this true?

the last pilot scholarship program was run at the end of 2001...there were plans to re-introduce it with something meagre like 5 hours, but I don't know if this has progressed

Sugar Junkie, I think you are confusing pilot scholarships with flying scholarships. The FS was scrapped - except for a smaller scheme run for ATC cadets, but the pilot scholarships scheme - sponsoring sixth form students through their second sixth form year provided that they passed pilot selection criteria and joined as direct entry pilots after A levels - still continued through this year. However, rumours are that it is under review and may not continue into next year.
