Original text Virgin Express

As you probably heard, shortly after our plans became public, some other well known German airlines annouced that they would also create low fare carriers to operate out of Köln/Bonn Germany.
Having taken into account these new developments, Virgin exspress has decided that to open a second base in such ahostile climate would be unwise.

This only shows that VEX is not confident in their product. In CGN there was Deutsche BA already, with Air Berlin jumping in now, there is certainly some competition to expect. But that is what LCC are up for anyway.
This is the second time that VEX focused on CGN and dropped the plans, guess they need to sit down and start a new strategy from scratch, especially in view of the ending liaison with SN-Brussels-Airline.

Is it true that VEX plan to close the LHR base?

yes Beryl, that is what they announced, It will happen as soon as the liaison with SN-Brussels-Airline comes to an end. As I said. they need to come up with good ideas soon, otherwise I doubt that they will be able to continue to play with all the others who are eager to face challenges.

They've always lacked the spunk to get in there and mince it with the big boys........ Just hope they haven't let too many prospective new employees down - again!
