It is the ultimate hospital pass. Unless you have carte blanche to disrupt the entire model. i e. ditch the board and return it to a government run essential service that is not for profit. And spend money recruiting enough of the right people to operate it correctly - get back to basic principles and standards.

Darwin was planned to be sorted out by Q1 2024. That is what the ATSB advised. We are about to enter Q3.

Darwin and Townsville are military controllers,so we should be asking the government why they are not manned 24/7.

Don't think 24/7 is required, just enough to capture the majority of the RPT flights. Townsville ATC resumed weekends today at reduced hours which is a start, not sure what's happening with Darwin but I know there's a lot of pressure from the airlines to get them back. Qantas is probably driving the process of getting them back to normal hours because of safety (which I understand completely) but ironically whenever its class G into these places where there would usually be a tower it's always the Qantas guys who want to use the opposite runway to everyone else

No it's not. It's on the RAAF base but it's staffed by ASA.
