A350 Flight Crew Rest Compartment dimensions

Hi all,

I am curious about experiences of A350 pilots regarding their crew rest. Looking at the dimensions, it comes across as a very narrow entry of the crew rest, little space to change clothes or to enter the respective bunk. The crew rest seat looks very uncomfortable and with a length of 195cm the beds seem too short for effective rest.

Any thoughts?

Haven't heard complaints about that from my taller colleagues. I don't have trouble fitting into the crew rest, though I'm shorter than 195 cm. The thing I dislike most is the light of the seat belt sign inside the bunk. The screen is illuminated even when the belt sign is off and it casts a somewhat bright light into the compartment.

Try an eye mask. A good quality one that provides total blackout is not expensive.

Yeah, I've used both. Usually I can sleep pretty well in there even without blocking the light. But that's the most common complaint I've heard about the bunk. Well, maybe the mattress could be a bit better. In any case, this beats the crew rests I've used before (although there are not many of them).

In 8,000 pages of documentation and another 1,000 pages of separate documentation there is no reference to it either.You read 9000 pages of docs looking for it? Now that's dedication!
