I use Norton as my browser and, until a couple of days ago, whenever I clicked on a link in an email, that reference opened in Norton. Now, despite checking my default options for HTTP, HTTPS etc are all set to Norton, Edge starts up and opens the page.

How do I stop this happening?

Not too tech - my son tells me, "Dad. you put the anal in analogue."

I think you mean — Stop Edge opening IN apps.

Yes, this is a thing. Not sure that it can be fixed. Quite a long and detailed description here.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/why-do-some-links-still-open-with-edge-after/1b949350-443f-41fc-872a-b23a01fdd62b

"The default web browser is for web pages. Elements of the Windows interface do not use URLs."

Edit: Fix it for Outlook
You need to change the app settings individually.

Edit2:
Here is a way to do it for all cases however you need to download and install software. I avoid this if possible.

Thanks jimjim. With some spare time I'll get a look at those options later today.

As you suggest, the answers to a simple google search as suggested by Asturias (which I tried well before resorting to experts on PPRuNe) are less than successful.

If your mail client is Outlook, just do the fix it in Outlook thing. I have a tendency to leave people with too many options.

Also - to be fair to Asturias, you did mistitle the thread really. I had the time to worry why the title did not seem to match the description. Then I googled it.:)

Search term-
edge opening links instead of chrome
